A few weeks ago, we learned the next chapter in Batmans ongoing life will be helmed by Matt Fraction and Jorge Jimnez. But before that, the hero will face off against a returning foe in the pages of Batman: Hush 2(orH2SH,as it looks in the logo). Like the original 2002 comic, the story arctold across 12 issueswill be penned by Jeph Loeb and drawn by Jim Lee, with inks and letters from Scott Williams and Richard Starkings. Hushwas an acclaimed arc back in its day, and the sequels recent trailer really wants you to get on board with this through animated panels of Lee and Williams artwork. What isHush 2actually about beyond Batman and facing off against his childhood friend-turned-enemy Tommy Elliott once again? Loeb and Lee arent saying, though the writer previously teased this would resolve the Hush saga once and for all. (This being comics, who knows how long once and for all will actually be.) According to the Hollywood Reporter, Absolute Batman was the top-selling comic of 2024, and DC would very much like Hush 2 to be one of 2025s top-selling books. Collected editions of the original Batman: Hushhave been a consistent seller for DC over the years, and the company reportedly gave the sequel a lot of attention during Februarys ComicsPro industry meeting. You can definitely feel that confidence in the trailer, which features Lee and Loeb walking in slow motion to sit together and calls the upcoming story the most anticipated sequel in comics history.
