Smartphone innovation has somehow flattened out in the graph, given theres not much left to explore. Apple brought the camera slider button to the iPhone 16 Pro for granular camera zoom level control, Samsung Galaxy S25 series has a ton of usable AI features to make life smarter, while the Infinix Trifold hopes to refresh the boring smartphone form factor.Having similar ambitions, Nubia has brought the Focus 2 Ultra smartphone to the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona. The device has a tactile camera ring that can be used to zoom in/zoom out while taking shots, just like you would on a DSLR camera. Theyve also added a dedicated camera grip to take mobile photography to the next level. The latter feature is similar to what we saw in the Xiaomi 15 Ultra revealed a few days ago at the MWC event.Designer: ZTENubia Focus 2 Ultra will replace the outgoing Focus Pro 5G, primarily centered around professional-level photography on a mobile device. The new smartphone will inherit the features of the Focus Pro including the Newvision AI photography system. The highlighting utilitarian features like a dedicated shutter button and shortcut slider to open the camera, record, or turn on the flashlight do come in handy. Coming on to the rotating camera ring, it can also cycle the filter presets and adjust the aperture of the camera lens for more control over the shots you take. The primary camera on the device has a 50MP sensor (with f /1.47 aperture and 1/1.55-inch optical format) and the front camera is a 32MP shooter. The phone has a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It can go up to 2800 nits brightness level. That said, the device has a respectable Unisoc Tiger T760 SoC, which is a 6nm octa-core chipset with 4 x Cortex-A76 performance cores and 4 x Cortex-A55 cores. How this processor will be able to deal with multitasking and high graphics gaming remains to be seen. The SoC is paired with 512GB storage and 20 GB dynamic RAM. Focus 2 Ultra manages to fit a 5000mAh battery in its 7.49 mm thin frame which is impressive. Unfortunately, there is no wireless charging option and the device can charge with a 33W wired charger.ZTE wants to keep things ultra-competitive, hence Focus 2 Ultra is priced at approximately $300 which is almost five times less than its nearest rival the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Nubia will offer the device in two color variants Forest Green and Sunrise White. The post Nubia Focus 2 Ultras rotating camera ring makes you feel like a pro photographer first appeared on Yanko Design.
