3D Artist Recreated Half-Life: Alyxs Scene in Unity

A Reddit user known as dnnkeeper ported a scene from Half-Life: Alyx to Unity and shared some technical details of the process.The creator transferred the scene using Source 2 Viewer and made custom adjustments for Unity URP. The artist made a custom shader graph for ORM textures, a shader for blending two layers by mask, and added lens flare. As for the lighting, the artist shared that it has not been baked yet.Also, dnnkeeper modified the URP package to implement a custom Cubemap Fog shader to enhance the Citadel vista. The Redditor mentioned that certain elements, like emission textures and dynamic objects, have yet to be added. Further plans include adding volumetric fog and some interactions.Transferring a Half-Life: Alyx scene to a different engine requires high competence in the sphere.
