"Cheetozard", a Cheeto that some people reckon looks like Charizard, was up for auction, and ended up shifting for just over $87K, when you factor in the "buyer's premium" fee.Yep, forget about investing in Pokemon TCG Pocket packs, you could have had a preserved cheese puff that's up to eight years old, and looks a bit like a dragon.To see this content please enable targeting cookies. The Flamin Hot Cheeto in question was lot number 70 in an auction run by collectables-focused American auction house Goldin Auctions that concluded on March 2. The winning bid was $72,000, which for context is less than the current winning bid at the same auction house on a game-worn Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls basketball jersey from the 90s, but more than the top bid for a game-worn LeBron James Lakers jersey."Presented is a 3-inch long Flamin' Hot Cheeto in the shape of the Pokemon Charizard, affixed to a customized Pokemon card and encapsulated in a clear card storage box," reads Cheetozard's description on the site, "It was initially discovered and preserved sometime between 2018-2022 by 1st & Goal Collectibles. The Cheeto surged in popularity on social media platforms in late 2024." This is sacrilege, but I reckon the Cheeto looks more like a generic dragon than it specifically does Charizard. All I'm saying is, in my humble opinion as the owner of some eyes, the fact Cheetos are naturally - well, not naturally because there's nothing natural about cheese puffs - orange-ish in colour is doing a lot of lifting here in this one being identified as looking like the Pokemon.
