Instead, the Blizzard executive wants to move towards a more freeform system where players decide what to unlock seen in games like Call of Duty.We do think battle passes are probably an antiquated system now, the series lead explained. There are different ways to gamify and to give the players more agency. So I think what I would say is, watch this space for us. I think were going to be introducing some interesting things.Alongside the newly revamped mechanic, Fergusson also wants to introduce more flamboyant cosmetic items to Diablo 4 in new updates. Inspired by the recent World of Warcraft cosmetics collaboration, Fergusson reveals the team at Blizzard discusses new collabs all the time.Considering the massive number of collaborations in other Activision-Blizzard properties, it seems extremely likely that we could see more IP come to the new Diablo game.
