Today, James shared that NetEase are aware of the mouse acceleration problems and are coming up with a permanent fix. James posted, Thanks for your feedback regarding the mouse acceleration. We [NetEase] are now working on the solution and will introduce this feature in the upcoming Season 1. We dont know what the solution is, but it could just be an in-game toggle. As for what mouse acceleration is, its a big problem that results in horrid aiming. Basically, mouse acceleration determines the distance your cursor travels based on how fast or slow you move your mouse with your hand. Fast movements mean the cursor travels a greater distance, while slow movements means it travels a shorter distance. From this summary alone you can see how it results in issues with aiming. Arrowhead deservedly won best multiplayer at The Game Awards, they then added vehicles in unison with the release of the Urban Legends Warbond, and just recently there has been a lot of mayhem over the games first official crossover. It has been a tremendous debut year for HD2, but 2025 could be even better. Nothing is official as of writing, but leaked gameplay shows off a new Helldivers 2 stratagem that looks dope as hell. There has been a lot of controversy with the crossover between HD2 and Killzone. The good news is that Arrowhead has acknowledged they missed the mark with the prices, and now part 2 of the crossover is free. In addition, for any concerned super earth soldiers, Arrowhead has promised they remain committed to avoiding the sin of Call of Duty when it comes to future crossovers. While the Killzone crossover introduces some great new content to the battlefield in space, players can expect even more additions throughout the next 12-months. So far all we have is leaks, and new gameplay shows off a Missile Silo stratagem for Helldivers 2. Players have been frustrated with the state of the game throughout the majority of 2024, and issues with the Dawning have exasperated the community even more as the year wraps up. Now the community is sounding alarm bells that Destiny 2 is dying because of a dangerously low player count. While players are understandably worried about the future of D2, there is a lot to anticipate from both the series and Bungie next year. Its expected that the spin-off, Destiny Rising, will come out within the next 12-months, meanwhile, there will be playtests for Marathon next year, too. Both Destiny Rising and Marathon are exciting prospects for 2025, but a lot of Bungie fans are less optimistic about the future of Destiny 2. Destiny 2 reaches record-breaking low player count On the official DestinyTheGame subreddit, players are worried about the future of Destiny 2 because of its low player count. On December 19th, OP kristijan1001 pointed out that, on Steam, the game reached a dismal low of 12,379. The player count grew back up to 19,128 a few hours later, and its important to note that this is for Steam only, so it does not to take into consideration total player count including PlayStation and Xbox. However, the OP also includes charts from activeplayer.io that show the game has dropped 50% from 2023. There is concern that This is dangerously low number for a game that use to be around 80k constantly, and there is a real worry that D2 will drop below 10k before next release. The OP also points out that there are like no people to LFG anymore for some activities making you screwed. Unfortunately, many of the replies agree with the OPs worries that the game is dying with the interest just not there anymore from players. One of the top comments blames Bungie for continuously making the same mistakes over and over. One of the comments says Destiny is gonna get the post avengers endgame effect, while another laments the magic of Destinys universe is gone. While doom and gloom is understandable, Bungie has outlined their roadmap for early 2025 as well as Year 11. Revenant Act 3 is set to start early in the new year, and it will be accompanied by several big buffs and nerfs, as well as the addition of a new dungeon in February. Now, a new patch fixes the games A-Life AI simulation, making the world feel more alive, but performance has suffered.In an interview shortly after launch, developer GSC Game World revealed that the games busted A-Life system was butchered by aggressive optimisation. Now that the system has been moderately fixed, although theres still a long way to go, the Xbox version of the game isnt running so hot.Stalker 2 A-Life kneecaps Xbox performanceFollowing the release of the Stalker 2 Patch 1.1 update, players immediately noticed a massive cut to performance on Xbox Series X and Series S. Prior to the update, the game was mostly stable, outside of key areas filled with NPCs and interactive elements.However, now, Stalker 2 runs at a significantly lower level of performance with even normal traversal through the games lush open world resulting in noticeable drops in framerate. What was once a smooth experience on console, despite the number of other technical issues, is buckling under the improved systems. But is it that bad?In our testing, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl on Xbox seems mostly stable when moving across the world. However, when A-Life activities start taking placesuch as two factions fighting each other from afarthe framerate does noticably drop. While we dont have the bespoke framerate measuring tools of, say, Digital Foundry, my TVs VRR tracker noticed a drop down to 42fps, just barely hitting the VRR window.For players with VRR displays, this means that youll notice the game going in and out of that special window that makes games with uneven framerates feel better to play. For those without, the huge variance in performance may be very noticeable.Players on the official Xbox subreddit have noticed the significant cut in performance with one player saying: this patch has made performance much worse on XBSX. I was so excited to continue my playthrough over the holidays but now that there are more NPCs and mutants the framerate tanks down to 40fps or less when there is action happening.However, in our experience, which is only a couple of hours with this patch, the performance drop is worth the benefit. Even across just two hours of play, the world of Stalker 2 feels so much closer to its predecessors. This world is now truly alive, and we already adored the original release. That doesnt mean everything is fixed. Helldivers 2 leak reveals powerful stratagem for Killzone Warbond We previously reported leaks detailing a Helldivers 2 x Killzone crossover. It was leaked by prominent leaker, Iron_S1ghts, and it is reportedly called Righteous Revenants. Of course, the crossover is not official, but the leaked graphic from Iron_S1ghts was removed via request from copyright holder, so this possibly lends more credence to the leak being accurate. Its unknown when the Warbond will arrive, just like another Warbond featuring old Dune weapons and armor. The stratagem is a StA-X3 W.A.S.P Launcher, and it comes with the following stats: Call-In Time 7.75 seconds Uses Unlimited Cooldown Time 432 sec It is also described as follows: A versatile missile launcher loaded with seven lock-on honing missiles. Unfortunately though, in the wake of this trailer, bad news about the Wuthering Waves glider has leaked online. The release date for Wuthering Waves 2.0 and PS5 is January 2nd. Leaks have shown an assortment of new animal and NPC models, as well as a new visual setting and some essential features fans have wanted since day one. As for whats official, the chapter is introducing Carlotta and Roccia as playable characters in a new explorable region called Rinascita. As revealed in the 2.0 trailer, players will be able to fly around Rinascita thanks to the implementation of a glider. While the glider looks incredible, the unfortunate news is that it is restricted to Rascita only. On the WutheringWavesLeaks subreddit, it has been revealed that the glider shown off in the 2.0 gameplay trailer is region-locked to Rinascita only. This comes from the stormywaves Discord, and the leak also says that the glider is only available to use when not in combat. This is disappointing as WuWa already has a huge explorable, open-world region besides Rinascita. Being able to only traverse one with the glider feels incredibly disappointing as shown by all of the comments reacting to the unfortunate revelation. Its possible Kuro could make the glider accessible in other regions via future patches, but right now its looking as though it will be restricted to Rinascita come the launch of 2.0 in the new year. Although no explanation is provided, its possible that restrictions are in place because the glider didnt thematically or mechanically work with WuWas other regions. While the news is disappointing, were still massively looking forward to the arrival of 2.0. The glider is still an exciting addition, and Rinascita looks absolutely gorgeous. Carlotta and Roccia are both poised to be exceptional additions to the games roster, too, so 2.0 will be the perfect starting point for PlayStation newcomers. Nexon presumably meant it will be an adult dog rather than a puppy as the German Shepherd was referred to as a pup, too. Its also not clear if they misspoke when saying a Golden Retriever and Labrador together. Its possible we could be getting one, or Nexon might be looking to add both whether at the same time or not. Wed absolutely love either a Golden Retriever or Labrodor as they are two of the best examples of mans best friend. However, what excited players the most was the return of the OG game mode in the game this time as a full Battle Royale map rather than Reloads compact island.The mode returned all the OG graphics, weapons, sounds, and mechanics as well as the infamous Double Pump meta in its full glory. On the launch of the game mode, it already surpassed over 1 million concurrent players leaving behind the core Zero Build and Battle Royale modes with the new season content out in dust.However, one problem that irked newer players was the matchmaking lobbies were full of OG sweats which made the game mode more difficult than they anticipated. As a result, Epic decided to nerf the mode altogether which is now causing a divide in the community.Fortnite adds bot lobbies to OG game mode after sweaty players take overFortnite has now added more bots to the OG game mode, in a silent hotfix on December 7, 2024. The hotfix makes adjustments to the matchmaking lobbies and adds Skill-Based Matchmaking (SBMM), something youd experience in the core BR modes to the OG game mode.Fortnite has increased bots in the OG mode to ensure more Victory Royales for players. Epic Games published a lengthy post on Saturday, revealing all the information about it. According to leakers, this mode has been in development for over two years. Furthermore, Epic released the first-person camera to Fortnite Creative earlier this year. Now, we are ready for the real thing!The new perspective will be available in a new game mode called Ballistic. This is a tactical shooter mode between two teams of five players. Ballistic is set to come out on Wednesday, December 11, Epic revealed.Fortnite is finally getting a first-person modeOn Wednesday, the Ballistic mode will only have one map called Skyline 10. This is a no-build mode where one team will be attacking and the other one defending. The goal of the attackers is to plant a reality-tearing Rift Point Device at one of two places on the map, while the defending team has to prevent it. In simpler terms, this is Fortnites version of Search And Destroy.After six rounds, teams will switch sides, and the game is over when one team wins seven rounds. The upcoming first-person mode in Fortnite also has elements of Counter-Strike and Valorant. You will start the game with a Ranger Person and 800 Credits, and you will earn more credits by getting eliminations or planting the device.
