While the game has been compared to the likes of Black Ops 6 and Battlefield, design director Ricky Liao wants gamers to know that the team isnt attempting to compete with the giants of the industry.In an interview with VideoGamer, Liao explained that the team isnt looking to compete with Call of Duty, Battlefield or any other shooter. Instead, the Tencent-backed project is aiming to craft an entirely unique space in the free-to-play market, first on PC and later on mobile and console.Delta Force isnt competingWhile comparisons will always be drawn between one FPS game and another, Liao explained that the team doesnt see other shooters as competition, especially CoD. They are working on improvements for the DSS following poor response from players, meanwhile, they are also looking to fix excessive ragdolling while also revamping the jet pack.As for leaks, datamines have uncovered a mysterious new weapon, and other leaks have revealed old Dune weapons and armor possibly reserved for a Premium Warbond. Vehicles were leaked earlier this year, and now Arrowhead has said they will be added soon for Helldivers 2 fans to enjoy.Vehicles will be added soon to Helldivers 2Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani and Helldivers 2 creative director, Johan Pilestedt, recently spoke at Korean gaming conference, G-Star. The interview is posted on Korean outlet, Inven, and it has thankfully been translated on Reddit by user Creepy_Ad3991.During the conference, they were asked if they could talk about wheeled vehicles, armored vehicles, or reconnaissance vehicles.Both Jorjani and Pilestedt initially responded in jest with Pilestedt joking Super Earth is conducting various experiments to improve the mobility of Helldivers. Jorjani also joked Vehicles are too expensive. Super Earth is sensitive to the economics of the battlefield and doubts the driving skills of Helldivers.After also jesting about whether or not Helldivers are old enough to drive, Pilestedt added On a more serious note, vehicle updates are in the plans. It will be added soon, but I dont think I can go into more detail than that.It is a translated interview, so there may be some inaccuracies with specific wording, but the above is good news to hear. This means that players could rock outfits or weapons from Warhammer, Halo and other sci-fi series, as long as it makes sense for the developers.In an interview with Korean outlet Inven, Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani revealed that crossovers are being planned at the studio. However, theres still no concrete details on what crossovers the studio is actually working on.Helldivers 2 crossoversSpeaking to Inven, Jorjani explained that the studio is planning crossovers, but Arrowhead doesnt want to oversaturate the game and turn it into a blend of other franchises.We are also planning crossovers (collaborations) with other IPs, Jorjani said. Whether its a brand-new map or the integration of new weaponry, Season 1 acts as a reset for the battle royale. With Black Ops 6 introducing Omnimovement along with the Area 99 Resurgence map, audio adjustments were met with widespread frustration from players unable to hear nearby opposition in the heat of battle. Thankfully, Raven Software is already addressing the issue making it much easier for you to hear those all-important footsteps.Warzones awful audio is fixedWithin the November 16 patch notes, Raven Software showcased numerous changes designed to improve the latest iteration of Warzone. To fix the sub-standard sounds, the developer has now fixed several issues with occlusion, enemy footstep, ascender, and parachute audio.As a result of the changes, players dropping into the action can now hear players deploying their chutes in addition to their movements if theyre close by. The developer has also confirmed that there are further changes in the works, a huge positive for those ending up in the gulag more often than usual.Our teams are hard at work on additional audio updates, and this is just the first of several steps were taking to improve the Warzone audio experience.Raven SoftwareThe next major Warzone update is likely to be for Season 1 Reloaded, the halfway point of the first post-launch season for Call of Dutys battle royale. The ability to hear everything in your surroundings clearly makes all the difference, especially in Warzone where several players are battling to become the last one standing. Adjusting audio so soon after applying major changes to the game is also a promising sign. Raven Software is no stranger to acknowledging the feedback of the community and its great to see the developer act quickly in a bid to improve the experience for all. With further changes on the horizon, Warzones audio is only going to continue getting better. Audio wasnt the only thing addressed in Warzones November 18 update. The developer applied a nerf to the Stim Shot to stop it from issuing a six-second speed boost alongside its instant health regeneration. Now, the equipment only features a three-second boost resulting in many rethinking how aggressive they can be in close-quarters combat. Warzone has often struggled to strike a balance with its audio. The Modern Warfare 3 era managed to find a range where footsteps could be heard over other sounds, giving players the best possible chance to react to incoming threats. Theres still room for improvement but it could be a while until audio returns to its absolute best. I had 8 elims and was top 3.The incident sparked an outrage in the Fortnite community as players shared similar instances on NPCs costing them to lose in crucial moments during gameplay. As a solution, one player suggested, Yea I dismiss her every match I win the Shark so shes no longer following me.Another player who faced a similar tragedy shared, She is the absolute worst. It took a whole team of us the other day to figure out how to make her stop throwing ice at us in the middle of nowhere with nobody else around. We tried dancing, we tried everything. It took mad long & we didnt even know what we did to get her to stop. Its best to never have her with you. While Arrowhead has assured of incoming fixes, Twinbeard has commented when asked why the station wasnt tested enough for bugs before launch.Twinbeard revealed why DSS failed at launch in Helldivers 2.I think that the idea of the DSS and what it can become in the future is awesome and I think it can be utilized for a great many things if things pan out well. I however also think that the testing process and comms surrounding the development cycle has been a step down compared to the recent heights weve seen for HD2, responded Twinbeard.He further added that the team at Arrowhead owns to the errors made and is not sweeping these issues under the rug which are concerning to them as well.Twinhead concluded by saying, The launch of the DSS was flawed, but it can be tweaked and evolved in many different ways. On socials, Nexon has been teasing additions to TFD via the second chapter, but now they have fully pulled the curtain aside through a pre-recorded developer commentary. Here you will find The First Descendant Season 2 release date along with the confirmed new playable characters, new Ultimate, and the official roadmap. Ahead of the S2 reveal, Nexon announced a lot of exciting additions for TFD fans to anticipate. Nexon is adding jiggle physics soon with appropriate options, and the developer is also conducting a rework for an appealing character that is massively popular within the community. In addition, right now players can redeem a new code for massive rewards in celebration of Nexons 30th anniversary. We only have to wait a few weeks for The First Descendant Season 2 release date to arrive, and now we officially know the roadmap, new characters, and upcoming Ultimate. The First Descendant Season 2 release date The First Descendant Season 2 release date is December 5th. This was confirmed by Nexon before their pre-recorded developer commentary. S1 was a lot of fun with the introduction of Hailey and Ultimate Freyna, and S2 should be even better as we are getting two new Descendants instead of just one, and we are getting another Ultimate that should supersede Freyna. In addition to these new big additions, Nexon is adding a new Vulgan Legion Boss. Its described as Much bigger than the other Vulgus, and, not only is it bigger, but its weapons change for each phase, making for varied combat.Per the developer commentary, it fights with a handgun and shield, but, when the phase changes, it splits the shield in two and uses it as a melee weapon. Then, for the final phase, it pulls out two handguns and uses both of them to fight. TFD Season 2 new charactersOne of the new playable characters for The First Descendant Season 2 is Keelan. This is the male who superficially resembles the MARVELs Blade because of his shades and style. In the developer commentary, it was revealed Keelan is a Descendant assigned to H.O.U.N.D, a search unit mainly deployed in Void Operations. They are a specialized search unit tasked with searching and, if necessary, seizing control of spaces found in the Void. As for gameplay, he has Toxic abilities that can be used while airborne, and can pierce enemies with his dash skill. Arguably the best aspect of the Season 2 reveal is that players will be able to recruit a German shepard dog companion named Fellow. You will be able to interact with the dog through various means such as petting, shaking hands, and high-fives. There are also other bizarre, but great, interactions like playing the conga.As if a dog companion wasnt enough, you will also be able to customize them in four different compartments: fur, body skin, torso attachments, and head attachments. Nexons other new Descendant for Season 2 is a female named Ines Raya. She is someone who works with Kaleen, and she uses the Electric attribute. She is also a character who specializes in AoE combat. Nexon confirmed she has a different body type like Hailey, too, and she will be added in week 7, meaning she will not be playable right away unlike Kaleen. Image credit: NexonNew UltimateThe new Ultimate is Sharen and it will have two skins. There is a default skin and then another that thankfully does not come with a helmet or mask. During the commentary, the devs said the skin resembles something from science fiction, like Ghost in the Shell. For Sharen, there will be two new Ultimate skill modules. The first module is Area Supression, and this enhaches her AoE abilities and grants her the ability to throw shortswords in a 360-degree circle around her. The other module is called Ambushed. It increases the effectiveness of stealth by increasing her movement speed and reducing the cooldown of skills used while in stealth. In addition, if you kill an enemy while in stealth, it re-triggers stealth, so you have a mechanic that almost allows for infinite stealth. Nothing official has been announced yet, but it would make sense for Treyarch and Activision to wait and release both Season 1 and the PS5 Pro update all in one go, rather than cutting it into two pieces. Phil Spencer discusses plans for Xbox handheld Bloomberg has posted an interview they conducted with Microsofts Gaming Chief, Phil Spencer. During the interview, Spencer discussed many different topics such as expanding Xbox on mobile and bringing more Xbox console exclusives to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. While speaking to Bloomberg, Phil Spencer also briefly discussed plans for a handheld gaming device. He admitted the expectation is that we would do something in that category, and, right now, Microsoft is working on prototypes. In addition, the launch of Chapter 34 has been brought forward slightly from December, and the PTB has revealed perks for The Houndmaster as well as Taurie Cain. While there is a slew of content to appreciate this month, many DBD fans cannot help but speculate over the final Year 9 licensed killer set to arrive in March. So far the biggest belief has been Kayako from The Grudge, but now theres another contender from a Japanese IP. Dead By Daylight leak points to another Japanese killer for March Dead By Daylight is set to receive its final Year 9 licensed killer in March. This is according to the Year 9 roadmap which reveals it is also a paragraph as the killer wont be accompanied by a survivor or map. So far the majority of the community has believed the killer is Kayako from The Grudge. Kayako has never been explicitly stated by leakers, but the belief stemmed from RuthlessLeaks claiming the killer is more popular in the East and was part of a movie that came out after the year 2000. In addition, the Ju-On series is celebrating its 25th anniversary next year, so the possibility of Kayako seemed to lineup. While a collaboration with Perfect Blue is seemingly not happening despite suggestions from Ruthless, the message said I do not know the anime collab so it appears one is still happening. Although not tagged, Helldivers 2 community manager, B Vitamin, said Arrowhead will probably not add vote to kick as its up to the host to decide who they want to play with. As for why it will not be added, B Vitamin explained A vote kick doesnt make much sense when the max group size is 4 on a peer-to-peer system.
