Rockstar Games posted on social media over the weekend, but rather than another GTA Online update or GTA 6 trailer 2, it was a trailer for Danny Dyer's new movie here's why the two are linkedTech10:36, 10 Mar 2025Updated 11:02, 10 Mar 2025Could Danny Dyer be in Vice City?(Image: Getty Images)Grand Theft Auto 6 is still slated to launch in 2025, but you'd be forgiven for thinking it's slipped as Rockstar maintains its radio silence about the project. While the company regularly posts about Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online updates (as well as a huge update for GTA 5 on PC), its social media post on Friday night was a little different a trailer for Marching Powder, the new film from British acting royalty Danny Dyer. That's led some to think the EastEnders and Football Factory star could be included in GTA 6, but what you might not know is that Dyer has been in a few GTA titles already.Dyer has been a regular in Eastenders(Image: BBC / Kieron McCarron)Sharing the snippet from Marching Powder on X (formerly Twitter), Rockstar certainly got eyes on the trailer. Given the studio's reach of 21 million followers, that's a lot of people seeing it on their feed. The film is directed by Nick Love, who also directed 2004 cult hit The Football Factory, which starred Danny Dyer as a football hooligan contemplating his life choices, but what you might not know is that the movie was produced by Rockstar Games. While Rockstar isn't tied in any way to Marching Powder, it seems the studio is just looking to promote a movie that two of their collaborators have worked on.That's not all, though. Dyer previously appeared in both GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas as music mogul Kent Paul, managing the in-game rock band Love Fist in the former, before working with the Gurning Chimps and Madd Dogg in the latter. The last we heard from Kent Paul, he'd begun an 80s nostalgia website with such pearls as "I used to have a mullet, but I'm okay now.For more on GTA, be sure to check out the news that Rockstar has acquired a new studio, or the latest map 'leak' that suggests Leonida will dwarf GTA 5's Los Santos.Article continues belowFor the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletters.
