Clancy the spacecaster in 2020s The Midnight Gospel.Titmouse, Inc., the animation studio behind countless hits mainstream and indie from Star Trek: Lower Decks and The Legend of Vox Machina to The Midnight Gospel and Scavengers Reign announced a subscription box service during the companys 25th anniversary panel at SXSW, that will double as an exclusive club for access to original animation.The upcoming service is called Churp a reference to Titmouses production card, which features an animated titmouse saying the word chirp, usually in the voice of one of the cartoons actors with monthly boxes containing merch, collectibles, and paraphernalia of Titmouse characters old and new, and a code to watch a new, Churp-exclusive cartoon. The tagline on Churp.tv is cartoon delivery service. Said Titmouse president Chris Prynoski, in a news release, Its like Sanrio for stoners. The same Titmouse news release calls Churp an IP incubator and creative playground, calling to mind the heyday of Frederator Studios YouTube operations, or Cartoon Networks Cartoon Cartoon era.Churp will have several new cartoons available to subscribers at launch, according to the news release. Theres The Mitch Owl Show from the creator of Metalocalypse, in which a bright-eyed Hollywood hopeful learns the horror of working directly for an A-list celebrity; A Million Dollar Idea, created by writer Sam L. Kim (The Colbert Report), the story of the worlds biggest entrepreneur, who happens to live in his car; and How Can It Be a Do?, a pitch-perfect parody of early 2000s industrial cable network documentary series.But the headliner is probably the star-studded Bruddies, a bloodbath action-comedy about two best friends created by Ben Falcone (Tammy) and Chris Henchy (Step Brothers). The voice cast boasts Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids), Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games), Joel McHale (Community), Octavia Spencer (Hidden Figures), and George Takei (Star Trek). Titmouse has not revealed any pricing information as of yet, but interested fans can sign up for updates at Churp.tv.
