Added in the games latest alpha test update, players can already buy microtransactions before the games public release.Skate reboot gets microtransactionsReported by Inside Gaming, developer Full Circle has added a full microtransaction system to the Skate reboot. In the alpha test update, players can purchase San Van Bucks, a new virtual currency, that can be used to buy cosmetics in the game.Players who use the virtual currency during the alpha test will have their cosmetics completely removed upon launch alongside their progress. However, all San Van Bucks will be refunded in their virtual currency state on release.The new Skate microtransactions has allegedly been added to test the titles paid cosmetics system before launch. Developer Full Circle claims that the games current testing is to ensure that release date players have a positive experience when purchasing items from the Skate store.Your feedback will be greatly appreciated in providing a great experience at Early Access launch, the dev team told players.The upcoming Skate reboot was announced way back in 2020 with environments still in a gray box state. At the time of writing, the games early access release is scheduled to release sometime in 2025. However, there is still no specific release date for the open world skating game.When Skate does officially release, the game will launch in early access as a free-to-play title on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and PC. With the Nintendo Switch 2 console also around the corner, theres hope that the game will also release on the next-gen handheld, although there are no known official plans for a port.For more information on the upcoming open world game, developer Full Circle has released consistent updates on the titles development on its YouTube channel.
