Godot 4.5 First Development Snapshot Now Available

Following the release of the latest stable version of Godot earlier this month, the first development snapshot for Godot 4.5 has now arrived.As is common after a feature freeze, several quality pull requests have finally been released from the backlog, which was previously too risky to merge. Developers note that the volume of contributions was so large they couldve released a snapshot a week ago. Naturally, Godot 4.5 Dev 1 includes a significant number of bug fixes, many of which will be backported to the 4.4.1-stable release next week. Users are encouraged to test this build to help ensure smooth releases for both versions. As this is a pre-release, standard safety precautions such as backups and version control are recommended to avoid potential data loss.As for new features, heres a rundown of the major additions:A new toggle has been integrated into the Game view, allowing users to mute audio with just a single click;Preloaded resources can now be loaded as UID when dragged;Multi-selection of nodes is now possible, even when they are of different types;TileMapLayer physics has been reworked so that cell shapes are merged into larger collision shapes whenever possible.A total of 121 contributors submitted 403 fixes for Godot Engine 4.5 Dev 1.
