The films rich visual effects, which helped bring its epic world to life, were created in collaboration with Shirogumi, one of the largest CG and VFX production studios in Japan. As the artist shared, the water simulation in the film was done in Houdini, while the rest of the rendering was handled in 3ds Max. In a recent interview with Foundry, Shirogumi also discussed implementing Katana for its shareability and ease of learning, which significantly reduced staff effort.
