The Lenovo ThinkBook Flip Doubles Your Screen Space When You Need It
Lenovo has been showing off its crazy and unique laptop design experiments for a few years now, and its latest models continue that tradition. Perhaps the most interesting of the laptops that the company presented at Mobile World Congress 2025 is the Lenovo ThinkBook Flip concept.
The Lenovo ThinkBook Flip builds on the idea of flexible laptop screens as a way to get more screen real estate when you’re on the go. In fact, this particular concept can double how much screen you have access to by simply unfolding the display whenever you need that extra space. With the ThinkBook Flip, the top edge of the laptop screen essentially acts as a hinge for the foldable display, which can then be unfolded as needed.
This particular design has other advantages too. Notably, with half of the screen on the back of the lid of the laptop, you can use the device in tablet mode more easily. Half of the laptop is able to face towards someone else for things like presentations while still having visual access to notes for yourself.
Of course, there are some potential downsides to concept designs like this. With a screen this tall, the balance of the laptop is likely to be a bit off, so you might need an extra kickstand at the back to keep the laptop firmly on a table. That’s not to mention the added cost that a larger flexible display might introduce.
All that said, this is just a concept for now, and it’s one of a long line of laptop concepts that Lenovo has come up with. There’s no reason to believe that this concept will ever make it to consumers, and if we ever get something like it, it’ll likely be very different.
Still, it’s nice to see what kinds of interesting technologies Lenovo is working on every now and then, like the Lenovo ThinkBook Flip. All of the major laptop manufacturers likely work on concepts like this, but almost none of them actually show those concepts to the public.
