Check out how we test and review games here After spending decades at the developer, Larian Studios studio head Arthur Mostovoy is leaving after the runaway success of Baldur’s Gate 3. While Larian wraps up work on its award-winning RPG to focus on its next project, Mostovoy is working to support the games industry’s “golden age of indies”. Larian Studio head joins Aonic After spending the last six years at Larian, Mostovoy is joining Anoic, a “multiplatform gaming group comprised of several studios globally”. At the company, Mostovoy fills the newly-created Head of Games role, covering the company’s entire portfolio of titles. Over the years, Anoic has been supporting lower-budget titles such as the newly-released diselpunk tactics roguelite game Grit and Valor 1949 and Deus Ex creator Warren Spector’s upcoming Thick As Thieves. Mostovoy explains that his role will help to support the continually growing age of indie gaming, a market of gaming that is still growing at a rapid pace. “We are entering a golden age of indies and small teams, resulting in some incredibly creative games,” the ex Larian Studios head explained. “The market share for small and indie teams is growing year on year, and this will continue. My role at Aonic is to support these teams in creating and delivering creative titles that can make a major impact.” Prior to his work at Larian, Mostovoy worked as a freelance project lead on Mount and Blade: Warband’s massive A World of Ice and Fire mod before joining Pixonic, then Azur Interactive Games and then Larian Studios. During his time at Larian Studios, the developer was “responsible for running and growing the UK studio to consistently deliver best in class RPG[s] like Baldur’s Gate 3”. As evidenced by the sheer quality of BG3 on launch and post-launch, their role was certainly a success.
