Unfortunately, the Cupertino firm ran into a boatload of snags and ultimately decided to delay these features to next year. The massive marketing cry of these additions forced customers to upgrade to various iPhone 16 models, so imagine their frustration when they learned that they had to wait one whole year to see what this revamped Siri was all about. These setbacks were followed by one lawsuit, but that was far from the end of these legal repercussions because Apple has been struck with two more class-action lawsuits in the U.S. and Canada. In one class-action lawsuit, plaintiffs said that they would never have upgraded to the new iPhone 16 range if Apple had not leveraged false marketing claims surrounding revamped Siri features With the new Siri features delayed, Apple was also forced to pull down an advertisement starring Bella Ramsey that showcased the upgraded voice assistant in action, but not before the company landed in hot waters with the law. As reported by MacRumors, one class-action lawsuit has been filed by two plaintiffs in a California federal court this week, which alleges that the California-based giant violated false advertising and unfair competition laws by marketing features that have yet to arrive. The unnamed plaintiffs also said that they would have never upgraded to the iPhone 16 had they known that these features would never arrive on time. Similarly, another lawsuit has been filed against Apple last week in the Canadian province of British Columbia. While the company and its lawyers have yet to comment on the recent development, both class-action lawsuits filed in the U.S. and Canada are seeking damages from Apple, with the sum expected to be determined at trial. Assuming that the judges find Apple to have broken the law, they could force the firm to initiate a payout to any class members who purchased an iPhone 16 with the intention of experiencing the new Siri features. No verdict has been given as yet, but we will keep our readers updated in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
