[Digital Foundry] PS4 is a very natural point of comparison for the Switch 2; "...you can expect a PS4 level experience"

Again, possibly, with other upgrades and loading times...other upgrades when it comes to more modern titles that are pushing out more advanced rendering technologies...I think that's probably what you can expect is a PS4 level experience" Click to expand... FF7R, RDR2, Death Stranding, LoU2, so many beautiful games that hold up visually. If it gets beyond that, that would be icing on the cake.   GPU Member Oct 10, 2024 782 Magic-Man said: Then how do we explain Cyberpunk? More to do with the high speed storage on Switch 2 then its processing power. A SSD was added to the min spec for Phantom liberty.  Audiblee Member Mar 14, 2025 629 I loved my PS4, but I don't recall a lot of AAA 120fps games made by Sony.   MacheteSquadSteve Member Jan 6, 2025 165 But what about (games DF has already looked at), huh?   Universal Acclaim Member Oct 5, 2024 1,847 I think in most ways it's more like Series S than PS4. I mean load times are very important among other things.   Rosebud Two Pieces Member Apr 16, 2018 50,413 Audiblee said: I loved my PS4, but I don't recall a lot of AAA 120fps games made by Sony. PS4 level is still pretty impressive. People expecting it to compete with even the Seres S were deluding themselves (heck, some were expecting PS5 visuals!) I can see Switch 2 games being much more optimized for the hardware than the Series S, though (due to the popularity of the hardware). But man, I still don't get it. You don't buy a Switch/Nintendo console for cutting edge stuff anymore. You buy it for the great library of games that will be available on the system! It's still a gigantic leap compared to Switch 1!  Mandos Member Nov 27, 2017 38,291 jroc74 said: Well, there were some ppl that said the PS4 could run Rift Apart so.... Going from gameboy to something that could potentially run something that looks like tlou2 in my lifetime is insane.  Last edited: Today at 7:04 PM Diogo Arez One Winged Slayer Member Oct 20, 2020 20,011 Audiblee said: I loved my PS4, but I don't recall a lot of AAA 120fps games made by Sony. What seems to be the hot debate is how much more capable it is. Seeing someone say PS5 portable is wild, lol. I've seen games comparisons where its not even close to a Series S. I've seen comparisons where its similar to a Series S. Expectations continue to be all over the place. MacheteSquadSteve said: But what about (games DF has already looked at), huh? Click to expand...
