There have been numerous rumors about an Oblivion remake, and now images of the Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered have been found on the developer website ahead of a leaked shadow drop. The Elder Scrolls Oblivion remake was the original rumor, but now it is a remaster according to leaked images of the cover art. These images were shared by extas1s on X. These include screenshots of gameplay such as the below images: Image credit: Bethesda Image credit: Bethesda While we still don’t know when the remaster is coming out, renowned insider, Jeff Grubb, claims its release date will fall in “the week of April 21st” as a shadow drop. According to the leaked images, it will also be available on PS5 and PC via Steam, as well as Xbox Game Pass on day one. There is no mention of the Nintendo Switch 2. Details are slim as of writing, but, in January, MP1st reported the game is a “fully remade” version of Oblivion in Unreal Engine 5, and it reportedly includes reworked systems such as stamina, sneaking, blocking, archery, hit reaction, and HUD. It’s also claimed that the new blocking system takes inspiration from Souls-likes. Hopefully the remaster comes out next week as rumors claim. Oblivion is one of the greatest RPGs of all time, and it would be fantastic to revisit the Elder Scrolls before we die of old age waiting for Elder Scrolls 6.
