Star Wars to Launch Biggest-Ever ‘Fortnite’ Game Tie-In
“Fortnite” will launch its biggest Star Wars-themed season yet with the May 2 release of “Galactic Battle.” This update will include the popular fan-fiction character Darth Jar Jar.
While “Fortnite” has previously teamed up with Disney-owned Lucasfilm for battle royale seasons featuring Star Wars characters, this five-part season is described by the Epic Games-owned platform as “our most expansive experience” within the galaxy far, far away.
The new Star Wars partnership is the most recent result of Disney’s $1.5 billion investment in “Fortnite” owner Epic, which was made in February 2024. That venture includes game tie-ins with “Fortnite,” like the “Galactic Battle” season, but also plans for a separate Disney universe-centric game.
