Small & Powerful: MSI MPG B850I EDGE TI WIFI Mini-ITX Motherboard Supports Up To 128 GB DDR5 Memory & Can Run Up To 8200 MT/s Speeds Without Any Issues Last month, we reported that MSI was working on a brand-new Mini-ITX offering which would use the B850 chipset. This motherboard is the MPG B850I EDGE TI WIFI and houses some great specs, and today, we have another leak coming from chi11eddog, where we get to see the DDR5 memory support for this board. Since the MSI MPG B850I EDGE TI WIFI is a Mini-ITX motherboard, it comes with a two-DIMM slot design. This means that the maximum amount of memory you can get on this board is 128 GB & that too, with just 64 GB memory modules, which have only recently started to enter the market. That's still more than what a typical user would ever use on their PC, but for those who want higher memory capacities, well, this motherboard supports those not only at really fast speeds. The demonstration shows that the MSI B850I Edge TI WIFI motherboard was running the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU with two DDR5 DIMMs. Each DIMM featured 64 GB capacity for a total of 128 GB on the PC itself. Image Source: chi11eddog The memory, which is from V-Color and makes use of SK Hynix ICs, was running at 8200 MT/s speeds with timings set to 44-58-58-126-CR1. That is some awesome stuff for AM5 users who can now run high-capacity memory speeds at really high speeds. As per our previous report, the MSI B850I EDGE TI WIFI is scheduled for a launch in Q2 2025, and the manufacturer is also preparing some high-end mATX options, such as the MPOWER series for the AM5 platform, so we look forward to some new motherboards in the coming months.
