While Pokemon TCG Pocket's new Shining Revelry update has kept us busy in the meantime, The Pokemon Company offered the Daily Star the chance to reveal two new cards from the set making their English debut. While they've been available in Japan (yes, Reddit, we know!), we've got the first look in English at Ethan's Pichu and Ethan's Adventure from the upcoming set. While our last exclusive reveal was centred around the affable Hop and his Pokemon, we're switching our attention to Ethan with Destined Rivals, with one Pokemon card and one Trainer card.Ethan's Pichu is relatively small on its own, but don't discount its ability to draw cards(Image: The Pokemon Company)Article continues belowThe first of our two cards is Ethan's Pichu, which is (as you'd expect) a lightning-type basic Pokemon. It's not the strongest, with just 30HP, but it does have built-in card draw which is likely to be helpful in all manner of situations. In Japan, the card originally appeared as part of Hot Wind Arena – one of the sets rolled into Destined Rivals for a more global release.Ethan's Adventure can help you power up, or turn the tide(Image: The Pokemon Company)This Trainer card also originated in the Hot Wind Arena set, and offers plenty of utility depending on the situation at hand.Use it to pull three energy cards to your hand, allowing you to be able to consistently power up, or grab some of Ethan's Pokemon (like the aforementioned Pichu) to be able to recover if your opponent starts clearing your board. The full-art version is from Iori Suzuki, but there is a special illustration version showing Ethan and his Pokemon that was drawn by Kariya.Ready for Cynthia's Garchomp ex?As for what's in the Destined Rivals set, which arrives on May 30, players can expect over 240 new cards including the two above. There are over 85 Trainer's Pokemon like Pichu here, with 45 of them being Team Rocket's villainous critters – one of the big draws of the set."Pokémon Trainers, be on high alert! The nefarious Team Rocket is setting its latest plan into motion, and heroic Trainers are racing to stop it.""Join forces with the likes of Cynthia and Garchomp ex, Ethan and Ho-Oh ex, or Arven and Mabosstiff ex… Or reconsider your loyalties and fight alongside Team Rocket’s Pokémon like Mewtwo ex—under the command of Giovanni!" the set's website description reads.Article continues belowFor more on Pokemon Trading Cards, be sure to check out our rundown of UK MPs as Pokemon because, hey, why not?For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletters.
