Well: PS3+PS4 at Japanese launch (PS4 localised 2 years after) PC version then done a few years after that Then Xbox version Now the DC for (at least) Switch 2. Guess the whole thing was a DC, not a remake for the Direct... naturally my question is "what is being added/changed". As in my opinion, very little in 0 needs changing (I mean, without rewriting major chunks of the game). Since new cutscenes are a thing, Im gonna need some added Majima cutscenes that smooth his transition to Yakuza 1 better. Also, since its a DC... for the love of Nugget, fix that fucking JCC mini game. You know, so it isnt a rigged POS anymore... Do that, and its a 10/10 for me.  jungius Banned Sep 5, 2021 3,537 I am so happy but they have to make it clear whats been added and will this ported to other platform   convo Member Oct 25, 2017 8,906 DespiteTheNora said: How many releases for this game now? The original release, the remaster and then this game which presumably adds some new stuff?  danmaku Member Nov 5, 2017 3,456 Because if there's something Yakuza 0 needed, it's more cutscenes. But whatever, the game is a classic, enjoy it if you haven't played it yet!  Mesharey Member Dec 7, 2017 3,286 Kuwait Will definitely get it.   DanarchyReigns Member Oct 25, 2017 36,638 I'm surprised they went the Director's Cut route. If you count the PS3 releaese as some different edition maybe, but there really isn't anything besides the framerate that distinguishes it and the latest PC version, there isn't a remaster of Yakuza 0. You must be thinking of the remasterd versions of the other PS3 games. Yakuza Kiwami had a port on the switch, and not 0.   shadowman16 Member Oct 25, 2017 40,880 danmaku said: Because if there's something Yakuza 0 needed, it's more cutscenes. I mean considering the number of people who are caught out by Majima's change in Yakuza 1 and beyond, yes it needs more cutscenes to explain that better to newbies. Not sure where your pulling "remaster" from but that doesnt exist. Just the original release, and the DC we see here. All versions of 0 are the same until this one.   senj Member Nov 6, 2017 8,531 I knew a full remake of a barely-old and still great game didn't make any damn sense. This approach seems a lot more sane.   DespiteTheNora Member Jan 30, 2025 1,311 convo said: If you count the PS3 releaese as some different edition maybe, but there really isn't anything besides the framerate that distinguishes it and the latest PC version, there isn't a remaster of Yakuza 0. Click to expand... Click to shrink... I dont know, Ishin was a "remake" (though not in the DE) and that was actually less old than 0 at its time of the remakes release... Then again Ishin's remake fucking sucked in so many ways, a DC of the existing 0 is a much smarter move than that at least... but a DE remake would have been more enticing to me. Still, the Switch 2 version can tweak a few things to make me want it even more. Getting the main vocal theme (Bubble) back in the game along with the vocal end credits song would be a start, especially as they managed that for Kiwami on Switch.  CannonFodder52 Member Oct 25, 2017 9,118 Canada I will play through Yakuza 0 every time it's rereleased. Click to shrink... Ishin was kind of an excuse to test-drive Unreal from what I understand. Anyways the "didn't make sense" was in particular the idea they would remake it as part of getting more Yakuza onto Switch 2. 0 already looks good generally and runs on lightweight hardware, any remake was almost guaranteed to have steeper hardware requirements (Ishin has kind of crap performance) and therefore probably lead to a worse experience on SW2, so remaking it to get it on there made very little sense.  Cantaim Member Oct 25, 2017 34,950 The Stussining senj said: I knew a full remake of a barely-old and still great game didn't make any damn sense. At this point by all reports they're moving on from Dragon Engine (hence the Ishin Unreal test drive) so if they were to remake 0 I'm not thinking they'd have picked DE to do it in anyways?   shadowman16 Member Oct 25, 2017 40,880 senj said: At this point by all reports they're moving on from Dragon Engine (hence the Ishin Unreal test drive) so if they were to remake 0 I'm not thinking they'd have picked DE to do it in anyways? Until they actually reveal a new engine, Ill be believing they'll be sticking to existing engines... Super Monkey Ball used unity too.   Lukar Unshakable Resolve - Prophet of Truth Member Oct 27, 2017 27,723 Blurb from Nintendo's press site: Yakuza 0 Director's Cut: Discover the decadence and danger of 1988 Japan in Yakuza 0 Director's Cut.
