We see several multifunctional things out there but usually the different functions are for the pets themselves. Rarely do we see something that is able to combine pet furniture with human usability. Designer: Billyhops The Billyhops Cat Bench Tower is a concept for a multifunctional piece of furniture for both the human and the fur baby. When unfolded, the tower transforms into a multi-level, vertical playground, offering curious felines the chance to climb, stretch, explore, or curl up for a nap. Each level caters to their natural instincts, giving them a secure space to perch and observe their surroundings like the true rulers of the house they are. On the flip side, when the unit is folded up, it transitions into what the brand calls “human mode”—a sleek, minimalist bench that fits effortlessly into contemporary living spaces. Its clean lines and wooden finish allow it to blend with various interior styles, eliminating the need to stash away or disguise bulky pet furniture when not in use. Crafted from premium plywood, the tower boasts durability and aesthetic appeal. It also has felt-covered cushions secured by velcro straps. Safety is of course important so there are gas struts on each corner which provide controlled resistance during folding and unfolding. This way, it is able to prevent sudden collapses and will not harm your pet or yourself when in use. There are also locking pins to ensure the structure remains securely in place. There are other additional elements like a hammock, a resting platform, and a scratch post. The cat tower can support up to 15 kg so it can accomodate two average-sized cats. The tower itself weighs 18kg and can fit in the backseat of a standard car so it can be easily transportable. There is also no assembly required as it comes fully assembled. As more people welcome pets into their homes and lives, the demand for thoughtful, integrated design grows stronger.
