Just recently, Arrowhead’s CEO has explained why it’s taking so long and has assured fans there’s “light at the end of the tunnel,” meanwhile, we have also been told the reveal date for the next Warbond as its release is a “little bit longer this time”. While we still don’t know when the HD2 patch will come out, a Helldivers 2 developer has teased a weapon buff and confirmed more fixes for the next update. Helldivers 2 dev teases weapon buff and confirms fixes for new update On the official Helldivers Discord, Arrowhead’s QA lead, Jojo, has been answering questions about the next update. They haven’t given away the date and they can’t provide exact details for everything, but they have given a few more insights. Regarding weapons, the QA lead was asked if the new update will include buffs for “weapons that were gutted months ago and never got brought back up like the queso”. To this, Jojo suggested a buff could be incoming for the Plas 39 as it is “being looked at”. Image credit: Helldivers Discord In addition, the dev also said Arrowhead is looking at the Eruptor, but there are “no promises” for the next update. And, in response to a user asking if there are “any plans to buff the Plasma Accelerator rifle,” Jojo said, “We are aware it sucks and we want to make it not suck”. Moving onto fixes, it’s already been established that the next update will focus a lot on performance and bugs as Arrowhead are fully aware “performance ain’t great” right now. Some fixes previously confirmed include issues with anti-aliasing, but more have now been revealed by Jojo. One user asked if Arrowhead are aware about throwables going “slightly to the left from the reticle,” to which Jojo responded, “bad news, known, but not fixed”. While this throwable issue isn’t fixed right now, Jojo also said “I think there’s a bugfix” for throwable knives, but did not elaborate on what the fix is other than there’s “nothing aside from that”. Lastly, another fix the QA lead has confirmed is the infamous torso bug glitch, and they have also implied issues with gore have been corrected, too. A user asked if the gore bug is going to be fixed as “Shooting Harvesters legs off but they keep walking,” to which Jojo responded, “It should be, if I remember correctly it was the same issue as was causing torsodivers”. We know the next Warbond is set to be revealed on May 8th with exciting news set to arrive shortly after, so it’s possible that’s when we could be receiving an announcement about the update.
