Gamers buying any Fortnite item, including V-Bucks, are now able to save loads with repeated purchases as the company increases cashback bonuses across the board. Epic Rewards makes Fortnite V-Bucks way cheaper Announced by Epic on social media, the “Epic Rewards” program “just got more epic”. Seemingly in celebration of the game’s return to iOS after years of legal battles, players will be able to get more money back every time they buy something in Fortnite. In the announcement, Epic confirmed that players will now get “20% back in Epic Rewards when you make a purchase in Fortnite and Epic’s other games on PC, iOS, Android, and the web using Epic’s payment system”. Additionally, these rewards are here to stay, meaning that the 20% cashback on money spent via Epic’s payment system will not only be the benchmark going forward but also won’t expire. Right now, this affects Fortnite, Rocket League and Fortnite across the globe. Now, when purchasing V-Bucks on Fortnite, for example, players will be given the option to pay via the Epic Games Store (which will give players the 20% cashback) or via a standard in-app purchase. Prior to this, 30% of a purchase on V-Bucks would go to the platform holder—which is still the case on PlayStation, Nintendo and Xbox—but by paying Epic directly, players are able to get 20% back while Epic pockets an additional 10%. Additionally, to celebrate the occasion, Epic is also “boosting Epic Rewards from 5% to 20% for all Epic Games Store purchases using Epic’s payment system through August 31”, including games distributed through other companies via the service.
