Sony has shared updated sales figures for the the PlayStation 5 in its most recent quarterly fiscal report, and the console now stands at 77.8 million units shipped worldwide as of March 31, which was the end of FY 2024-25.
That’s up from 75 million worldwide shipments as of the end of 2024.
In the final quarter of the FY, running from January to March, Sony shipped 2.8 million units of the PS5 worldwide (down from 4.5 million shipped in Q4 of the previous fiscal year), while total shipments for the console across the entirety of the FY arrived at 18.5 million units worldwide (down from 20.8 million units in the previous FY).
Though hardware sales saw a year-on-year decline, PlayStation did gain ground in terms of software sales.
PS4 and PS5 collectively sold 76.1 million software units in Q4 of FY 24-25 (up from 72.6 million in Q4 of FY 23-24).
Total software sales for the FY stood at 303.3 million units, up from 286.4 million units the previous fiscal year.
