Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios appears to be returning to its flagship Divinity franchise. After leaving BG3 behind with Patch 8, Larian is officially working on two new games.
While the studio has revealed that we won’t see their next title until 2028 at the earliest, Larian has seemingly teased what one of its next projects is. As expected, it appears the studio is working on some form of Divinity title.
Is Larian returning to Divinity?
As spotted by numerous fans on social media, Larian Studios has overhauled its social profiles in a surprise move. Fans noticed that the official Larian Studios account changed its username to “@Divinity” for a few minutes before reverting back.
At the time of writing, Larian has reverted its social media profiles back to the standard “@Larianstudios” handle. This could mean that the studio is getting ready to reveal its upcoming Divinity project sometime in the near future.

Larian Studios’ Divinity series of RPGs has been the main IP of the Belgian development studio since 2002. The studio has released 7 games in the series over the past two decades with a cancelled title – Fallen Heroes – that was also in development.
Prior to Baldur’s Gate 3, the developer released two games in the Original Sin sub-series, dense CRPG titles that laid the path for its Dungeons and Dragons game. It’s not known if the studio is making Original Sin 3 or if it’s a brand-new sub-series.
For the future of Larian Studios, the developer has used the massive success of Baldur’s Gate to scale up massively. The studio has opened a brand-new storytelling department for its Guildford, England studio that will help to make even bigger, denser stories in its next games.
