Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Wont Have Difficulty Options Because of Co-op

Despite the sheer absurdity of launching a year after the sixth entry, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 offers several firsts for the series, including a four-player co-op campaign. As a result, however, it also doesnt have difficulty options, instead scaling the challenge to the number of players.Treyarch associate creative director Miles Leslie told IGN, For the difficulty, its baked in. Weve built it for solo or four-player squads as well. You cannot pick a difficulty like past games. Weve baked it in because you have to approach a co-op campaign differently, and we wanted to make sure the missions felt right for solo players were not forgetting about you, we love you but also because it is a social experience we want to make sure its fun, but the right amount of challenging for two, three, and four players as well. With the campaign counting towards progression, including for the Battle Pass, its unknown if co-op offers additional XP or other benefits. Thankfully, those without friends can matchmake with others for the campaign. Whether solo or with others, theres also a new PvE endgame mode for up to 32 players, which is like an extraction shooter.Of course, you can also look forward to multiplayer (which features 18 maps) and round-based Zombies. Fan-favorites like Dead Ops Arcade are also making a long-awaited comeback.Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on November 14th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. Stay tuned for more details, including a full multiplayer reveal, from Call of Duty Next in September.
