As the series has branched off into books, comics, TV shows and even movies, Steitzer has been waiting for Halo Studios to give him a chance at just one thing: audiobooks.In an interview on the VideoGamer Podcast, Steitzer revealed that hes never been asked to record an audiobook for the Halo series. While books in the series have been read by talented performersincluding Keith Szarabajka for Halo: EpitaphSteitzer has never been given the chance to record for the series expanded universe.Jeff Steitzer wants to record a Halo audiobooksSpeaking on the latest edition of the podcast, Steitzer explained that hes been waiting to be asked to record an audiobook for the series. With no knowledge of any future Halo project, the veteran voice actor and stage performer would love to be a part of the series wider universe.I kept waiting for them to contact me. For some reason, I have not been approached, I dont know why, Steitzer told VideoGamer.They keep me in a closet, they let me out every three years, I do a recording, they send me back.HALO VOICE ACTOR JEFF STEITZERWith the newly-rebranded Halo Studios even releasing smaller audio dramas on their YouTube channel, Steitzer joked that the Halo developers keep him on a need to know basis.I didnt even know about the YouTube channel, the actor explained. They keep me in a closet, they let me out every three years, I do a recording, they send me back. I dont know whats happening in the worldits crazy.In the interview, Steitzer also explained his surprise that he was never asked to return as a small Easter egg in the Halo TV show. While the series first season included a nod to Halo-themed web series Red vs Blue, Steitzer was sadly never asked.Hey, if Whoopie Goldberg can run a cantina, why cant I? the actor joked. Have Master Chief come in for a drink being depressed, like, Ive lost my uniform and Im like Go out there and finish the fight, but nobody asked for my opinion.While Steitzers role as the Halo multiplayer announcer isnt as front-facing as Steve Downes Master Chief, the voice lines of double kill and thousands of others have likely been heard billions of times more.
