What We Do in the Shadows Final Episode Has Some Secret Alternate Endings
The Finale, the final episode of What We Do in the Shadows after six killer seasons, closed up shop with the added bonus of a couple of false endings. Did you get to see all the footage and drain every last drop of blood from the beloved vampire comedys corpse? Youre missing out if you didnt! If you turned off your stream right when the credits for The Finale began, youd have missed a very funny scene with Guillermo and Nandor, in which Nandor demonstrates his superhero dreams werent just a bunch of bullshit talk. And after that, theres an also-very-funny scene with the vampires watching a clip from the What We Do in the Shadows pilot and reacting with expected snarkiness. But! Rewind to a bit earlier in the episode, when Nadja hypnotizes the viewer through the camera, ordering them to imagine the very best ending for their documentarya meta-wink at the ending of What We Do in the Shadows itself. When I viewed the press screener provided by FX, the episode then leaps into a parody of The Usual Suspects, as I described in my recap. FX But when I was re-watching the episode on Hulu, I was shocked and delighted to see a different hypnosis-induced ending: Nandor and Guillermo waking up together in bed, which was already a very fun sight to see before I realized What We Do in the Shadows was aping the legendary it was all a dream ending of Newhart. FX My excitement tripled when I realized there was a third option: a spot-on recreation of the end of Rosemarys Baby, except this time you get to see the demonic baby, and its amazing. Hail Satan! FX To watch all three parodies and have yourself a Clue-style what if? extravaganza, you need only navigate to the Extra Hypnosis Features next to the Episodes tab on the Hulu menu for the show. Nadja even pops up to introduce the segments. You can watch all six seasons of What We Do in the Shadows on Hulu now. And heres one last Jackie Daytona picture, for the memories. Toothpick!
