In the past, Arrowhead shut down this idea due to a number of issues, but Pilestedt and the community may have figured out a way.Speaking on Reddit, the Arrowhead COO and a community member weighed up what the catch could be for a backpack-fed weapon to make sure it doesnt become an overpowered stratagem.The community came up with the idea of intense stamina drain that would also impact the overall speed of a diver. This meant that Helldivers 2 players equipped with the powerful machine gun would be unable to quickly retreat, giving them more of a support role.Stamina drain is a great idea! Pilestedt said. And when youre too low, you cant resist the recoil.Man thinking about this more, he continued later. This is in general a great system. I gotta meditate on this. Theres something awesome here in regards to recoil control and stamina.Since release, the developers behind Helldivers 2 have proven that they care deeply about the community.
