Yet, not every exploit ends in a win.A jaw-dropping moment rocked the Fortnite community as a player stumbled upon a bug that spiraled out of control, leading them into a staggering amount of virtual debt that could easily compete with the participants seen in Squid Game.Fortnite player shocks everyone with staggering XP debt in Chapter 6A Fortnite player named NicoManSVK shared three images on Reddit where they showed the XP and level progression bar visible on the top-right of their profile. But what was shocking to see was that the XP value written right next to their next level was in negative numbers.A Fortnite player ended up with negative XP values on their account. Image by NicoManSVK.The first image showed -500 XP to Level 2, the second image showed -44,000 to Level 2 and the final image showed -101,000 XP to Level 2. This resulted in the player sharing this instance under a Bug tag on the FortniteBR subreddit where others exclaimed that Epic really doesnt want the user to level up.Others shared that they are in a debt as high as Gi-Hun from the hit TV show Squid Game. A player wrote, Seems hell be stuck on that creative map octo game', implying that the user would have to play the Squid Game within Fortnite to earn enough XP to reclaim their debt.Similarly, other users who are already Level 200 and higher offered to lend some of the XP to make the users debt go away so they can level up to Level 2 and progress further in the game.However, one user who faced a similar issue commented, For anyone wondering, I was getting battle pass rewards, the XP bar and level was bugged. After every match, the XP bar was showing zero again. I had this bug for a few matches.After this was shared, many other users also shared reports of similar bugs faced by them during their Chapter 6 gameplay. While Epic is currently on Winter Break, the next Fortnite update will arrive on January 14, so players are hoping this bug receives a potential fix.
