Feltham Park masterplan
The winning team selected for the estimated 75,000 contract will engage with local stakeholders and the community to co-design a masterplan for Feltham Park which has been earmarked to become a new destination space for the borough.The project planned to complete in 2027 will redesign and enlarge existing childrens play areas while also introducing new adolescent-to-young adult spaces providing risk-based play and sports such as BMX.New active cooling and climate resilience measures will also be introduced along with initiatives to increase biodiversity and to highlight local heritage.AdvertisementAccording to the brief: The appointed team will have demonstrable experience of co-design and delivering urban parks and green spaces through the project cycle from concept design to completion of construction.The team will understand that the successful delivery of high-quality public spaces must be co-created with a range of stakeholders and the local community. The team will have the expertise to use a variety of engagement methods to ensure all voices are heard.They will also hold the necessary skills to take these influences and shape the spaces into high quality, aesthetically pleasing designs that will withstand the test of time.Located 17.5km west of Charing Cross, Hounslow is a large suburban borough that is home to more than 288,000 people.
