BioWares streak of never-ending bad luck is continuing. AfterDragon Age: The Veilguardcommercially underperformed and cost publisher EA a ton of money, BioWare announced that it was restructuring and slimming down. In less pretty words, the studio is losing a bunch of people to projects at other EA studios, while several employees have also been let go in yet another round of layoffs. Now, a report by Bloombergs Jason Schreier has shed further light on whats happening at BioWare. According to the report, the studio has shrunk down to less than 100 employees. Its headcount was more than twice that as of a year ago.Its also claimed that though dozens of BioWare employees were told followingDragon Age: The Veilguardslaunch that they were only temporarily being allocated to other EA projects (including Skate and Iron Man), the company recently told them that their transfers were permanent. As per the report, there are some who arent pleased with the forced change- though they do, at least, get to keep their jobs.Allegedly, the plan is for BioWare to staff up again as the next Mass Effectmoves deeper into production. Currently, the sci-fi RPG is still in pre-production, with a team of veterans who worked on the originalMass Effecttrilogy leading the charge.
