Following its big reveal at The Game Awards 2024, Gearboxs Borderlands 4 is gearing up to showcase more gameplay early this year. While several elements like cross-play and two-player split-screen co-op are confirmed, senior project producer Anthony Nicholson also assured that there will be guns. Lots of guns. Billions, even.Nicholson told GamesRadar for its Borderlands 4 preview that the team is always adding more guns, manufacturers, legendary weapons and opportunities for customization and player expression. As a result, players can look forward to billions of weapons and accessories in the sequel, which may cause long-time fans to groan at the potential junk to sift through.However, when asked if the rarity system will receive updates, he added that Gearbox wants to create exciting moments when a rare weapon, item, or something altogether unexpected drops. This doesnt mean you wont trash a good chunk of your drops, but at least you can look forward to them more.Borderlands 4 is out later this year for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Though 2K hasnt narrowed a release window, its definitely not launching anywhere close to Grand Theft Auto 6, which releases this Fall.
