The $29 AirTag Killer? This Smart Tracker Has an E-ink Screen for Photos & Contact Information

Weve been using iPod Shuffles for so long that we forgot the iPod Nano existed. Meet the PhotoTag the iPod Nano to the conventional tracking device weve been using all these years. You see, tracking devices are great theyre perfect for keeping tabs on things that are valuable, or things that get lost. The problem, however, is that these devices dont do much beyond tracking your location and occasionally playing an alert sound. In short, theyre basic and without a display, sort of like the iPod Shuffle. What the PhotoTag does is put a tiny E-Ink display on the tracker. You can use the display to add contact information, a QR code, your face (for better identification), or if youre using the tracker on a pet collar, the face of your cat or dog. The Phototag takes the AirTag and gives it an extra killer feature without taking away any functionality. The $29 tag is IP64 waterproof, has a replaceable CR2032 cell, is iOS/Android compatible, and boasts an impressive 10-month battery life. Unlike conventional e-ink screens, this one has a 4-color display capability, which means you can upload color photographs to it and have them visible even in glaring light. E-ink famously has low power consumption, which means the Phototag can last as long as 10 months on a full battery and even if the battery dies, the display never switches off, making it uniquely useful. So why put a screen on a tracker? Well, the iPod analogy works best, believe me. Sure, you can listen to music on an iPod Shuffle without really NEEDING to look at album art or thumbnails but having a small screen for viewing artwork and artist details makes all the difference. It turns the act of music listening into something much more intuitive, giving you a much more user-friendly overall experience. The Phototag aims to do the same for trackers. Sure, you could slip an AirTag into your purse, but alternatively, you could string the Phototag around your backpack and it serves two purposes it helps you track your bag, but it also acts as a unique identifier for everyone, because you can display your photo or contact details on it. The tag looks fairly benign so nobodys going to mistake it for a high-end tracker. In fact the E-ink screen looks like a print-out to begin with.Want to place a tracker on your pet? The Phototag famously offers a much better alternative than your Chipolo or Tile tracker. You can load your pets face or name onto the Phototags display, strapping it to your cat or dog. Unlike any other tracker, the Phototag comes with a contact button that instantly displays your contact details in case your pet goes missing and is found by a stranger. That same tech works remarkably well on luggage too, allowing staff to identify the owner just in case your luggage gets lost or misplaced. The ability to upload QR codes opens up even more possibilities, whether for linking to emergency information or a social media profile. Heck, you could probably even load your boarding pass on your tag and strap it to your backpack, allowing you to cruise through the airport without breaking a sweat.Like Apples AirTag or Tiles lineup, the Phototag connects via Bluetooth to both iOS and Android devices, offering real-time tracking through a dedicated app. The smart alarm feature helps locate missing items with an audible alert, while automatic push notifications ensure you never leave something important behind. In essence, its everything youd get with your average tracking device, plus a game-changing new feature that Im surprised doesnt exist yet.The Phototag comes wrapped in a robust machined aluminum casing. The button is aluminum too, and the entire tag is rated IP64 water and dust-proof, making it durable to the elements. Youve got a standard CR2032 battery on the inside (the same as the AirTag), which lasts for 10 months and can easily be replaced whenever needed. The Phototag starts at a surprisingly affordable $29, matching the price of Apples own tag. Its marginally bigger than most trackers, but the benefits outweigh any cons its size brings. At 1.77 x 1.36 inches in size (and 0.3 inches thick), the Phototag is still tiny enough to easily slip around your keys, on a lanyard on your bag, or the collar of your pet. A lanyard hole lets you easily string the device onto your EDC or your pet collar, although the folks behind the Phototag do sell leather accessories like a bag-tag and a pet collar that fit the Phototag perfectly well. The Phototag comes in 3 color options, is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, and ships globally starting April 2025.Click Here to Buy Now: $29 $59 (51% off) Hurry!
