Sony2024 witnessed the shutdown of many studios, and one of them is Ready At Dawn, the developer known for Echo VR, Lone Echo, Daxter, The Order: 1886, and several God of War games for PSP. What came with the sad news was that a reliable insider reported that the studio was planning a sequel to The Order before Meta acquired it in 2020, which never saw the light of day.Recently, Ready At Dawn co-founder Andrea Pessino opened up about the sequel pitch for the 2015 PlayStation-exclusive action adventure. He shared in an interview with MinnMax that the reason it didnt get Sony to approve was probably not due to sales, but its reception was not that great. The Order: 1886 received mixed or average reviews from critics and scored 63 on Metacritic.I think it was the critical reception, thats the thing. Sony is a very proud group and rightfully so, and the critical reception, if it had even been just in the 70s, we would have had the sequel, Im convinced. Just a few points more and it would have been OK.The score could be better if the studio had been given more time, We needed another year, thats the reality. Due to limited development time, lots of content got cut, which could be one of the reasons for the lukewarm reception. A lot of the more subtle narrative parts were lost because so much was chopped away, and things that were supposed to be interactive became a movie, Pessino added.Pessino describe the sequel, if it couldve ever been created, as incredible and featuring multiplayer. He did not specify the setting but denies the rumor about it being set in 1986.Join our80 Level Talent platformand ournew Discord server, follow us onInstagram,Twitter,LinkedIn,Telegram,TikTok, andThreads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.Source link The post Ready At Dawn Co-Founder On Why Sony Didnt Approve The Order: 1886 Sequel appeared first on CG SHARES.
