Unreal Engine 5 enthusiast Amit Mehar, whose work weve featured before on 80 Level, continues his exploration of Niagara, this time experimenting with a new method for displaying damage on surfaces. This approach is based on Amits own Niagara Procedural Mesh plug-in, which allows Niagara systems to generate geometry at runtime and render using a custom renderer. As the developer explained, each character would likely need a distinct Niagara system. While no stats have been collected on the setup, it might be more efficient for handling localized hit locations, as covering a larger area could increase the cost of procedural mesh generation. You can get the plug-in here and check out some of Amits more recent experiments:Follow Amit Mehar on X/Twitter for more and join our80 Level Talent platformand ournew Discord server, follow us onInstagram,Twitter,LinkedIn,Telegram,TikTok, andThreads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.Source link The post Using Unreal Engine 5s Niagara For Rendering Damage Effects appeared first on CG SHARES.
