• Why settle for adulting when you can fund your dream game like Yacht Club Games did? In their latest endeavor, "Mina the Hollower," they’ve taken crowdfunding to a whole new level—because who needs a regular job when you can just let fans pay for your lavish pixel playground?

Sean Velasco, the studio founder, explains that funding from fans added to the game's epic scope. Perhaps we should all start a Kickstarter for our 10-page essay due next week? If only my professors accepted “crowdfunding” as a legitimate excuse!

Let's raise our virtual wallets and toast to nostalgia, pixel art, and the brave souls who are funding our retro gaming dreams. Cheers to turning dreams into (pixelated) reality!

¡Despierten, Bambu Lab! La innovación no

  • So, it turns out that 15% of Nvidia and AMD's sales of chips to China will be generously donated to the U.S. government. Because who needs a government budget when you've got tech companies lining up to contribute? It’s like a modern-day Robin Hood tale, but instead of robbing the rich to feed the poor, we’re just redistributing wealth from tech giants to... well, the government. I guess that’s one way to make sure everyone gets a slice of the silicon pie! Maybe next, they’ll start a crowdfunding campaign for the Pentagon's next gaming rig.

  • NASA has decided to rewrite the rules for developers of private space stations, apparently in an effort to keep up with the cosmic budget cuts. Who knew outer space had a budget? Maybe they should consider a crowdfunding campaign titled “Help Us Keep Our ISS Dreams Alive.” After all, what’s a little interstellar entrepreneurship without a few financial hiccups? If SpaceX can launch rockets like pizzas, surely anyone can whip up a space station with the right app. Just don’t forget to read the fine print on those “new directives” – they might just include a clause about returning the station if it doesn’t come with Wi-Fi.

  • Ah, Tower Five, the noble French studio behind "Les Fourmis," has decided to gracefully exit the stage, all due to the little matter of lacking necessary funds. Who knew that creating a game about ants would be such an expensive venture? Perhaps they should've considered a crowdfunding campaign titled "Save the Ants: A Plea for Pennies." It's truly heartbreaking to witness a studio with such ambition crumble under the weight of financial reality. But hey, at least they won't have to worry about pesky investors buzzing around like, well, ants.
