Coming to PC, Xbox and PlayStation, the newly upgraded version of the Stalker Trilogy will arrive on May 20, 2025. Owners of the previous versions of the game on all platforms will also receive a free upgrade to the new enhanced edition. The new version of the game will include a number of new graphical features, bug fixes and new optimisations as well as changes to make the game “more modern and immersive” for modern gamers. Of course, PC players will still have access to the original versions if they prefer it. “Several key areas have received updates to enhance the visual experience compared to the original games,” the developer explained. “These improvements include updated skyboxes, enhancements to GodRays and the overall lighting system, and refined surface reflections, including effects for wetness, improved 3D models for NPCs and guns. Furthermore, the textures have been upscaled and upgraded for greater detail. Additionally, some UI elements have been updated to improve usability on both PC and Consoles.” GSC explains that the new remasters do not alter or add any content to the Stalker Trilogy. However, Yes, various controls were changed and adjusted to be more in line with current game practices. “some QOL features have been added to enhance the overall player experience and usability” and broken quests have been patched. As for modding, the Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition is not compatible with mods for the original games. However, it looks like there's a chance yet another big update could be just around the corner, if an alleged PlayStation leak proves on the money. If you were living under a super rock on May 12, Arrowhead deployed this fresh Illuminate push towards Super Earth alongside a bunch of new enemies and mechanics like weapon customisation. Naturally, this meant the social media accounts of both the studio and its backer PlayStation were pretty busy posting about all this stuff, and some players are claiming that they spotted one of them accidentally revealing that another update is set to drop on May 20. A player with the handle xTekshi has posted an alleged screenshot of PlayStation's official Threads account for the Czech Republic sharing the game's latest trailer with a caption that a big update dubbed "Heart of Democracy" will be dropping on May 20. We've checked the timeline of the Threads account in question, and if it existed, this post has seemingly been scrubbed - which to be fair doesn't mean much as you'd expect such a move to be taken if the update had been accidentally blabbed about. While modders work on creating entirely new operations as well as new Tau and Necron factions, one modder has made the game’s entire campaign playable with a massive crew of 12 players. Crush Space Marine 2 with 12 players Available right now on Nexus Mods, the “Campaign Missions as Operations – 12 Player Edition” does exactly what is says on the tin. Based on the recent 12-player Operations mod for Astartes Overhaul, this mod allows every campaign mission to be played in the larger co-op squads. Installing the mod does remove the ability for you to play normal operations and play with others who simply don’t have the mod installed. However, reverting back to normal is as easy as disabling the mod. Due to the game’s mission setup, the 8 mission Space Marine 2 campaign is split into 11 Operations. While Square Enix has been largely quiet about Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate since its original announcement all the way back in 2021, the team working on the game has ocassionally popped up every now and then in order to assure fans of the franchise that development on the game is still going on. Speaking to GameReactor during Comic Con Napoli, Series creator and Dragon Quest 12 director Yuji Horii once more repeated that work on the game was still continuing, apologising for more concrete news. “Yes, indeed, I can’t say anything, I apologise,” said Horii when asked about development progress on Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate. “I am making it, putting lots of work into it”, he insists in the video below. “I can only say that the next work will be great too, working really hard. Please look forward to it, is the only thing I can say.” Horii also spoke about the potential of releasing Dragon Quest 12 on the Nintendo Switch 2. While he didn’t give any concrete answers, his response did indicate that there might be plans to bring the RPG to Nintendo’s upcoming console. “Yes, I believe it could be compatible with Switch 2 as well,” he said. Horii’s answers came just a few months after he assured fans of the series that work on the game was still continuing. Back in February, during a livestream, Horii assured fans that Square Enix was still “working hard on Dragon Quest 12.” More details, however, including a release window weren’t revealed. Rather, Horii said that the plan was to reveal more information about the game “little by little.” The Dragon Quest 12 director has been accutely aware of how much anticipation is building up for the game. Back in May 2024, he had taken to social media to apologise for the overall lack of communication from the developers about the game. In his post, Horii wrote about wanting to ensure that the title would be a worthy tribute to series composer Koichi Sugiyama, as well as art director and character designer Akira Toriyama. Sugiyama, for context, had passed away back in 2021, while Toriyama had passed away earlier in 2024. “Thank you so much to everyone for all the congratulations,” Horii wrote. “I’m sorry for the worry about Dragon Quest 12, but I was just having a meeting about it. I can’t say much yet, but I want to make something worthy of the posthumous work of the two people who passed away. I’ll do my best!” Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate was announced during the Dragon Quest 35th Anniversary Special livestream back in May 2021. The title, in development using Unreal Engine 5, was revealed with a teaser trailer. It is slated for a simultaneous worldwide release. PlayStation possibly leaks date for next Helldivers 2 update As spotted by OP, xTekshi, on the Helldivers subreddit, an official PlayStation account for the Czech Republic possibly leaked the date for the next Helldivers 2 major update. The OP claims to be from the Czech Republic themselves, and they have translated the message that was included in the post. The seemingly deleted PlayStation post said, “Super Earth is in danger. All Helldivers must report to their Hellpods immediately. The battle for humanity itself is about to begin! The big “Heart of Democracy” update is coming on May 20”. This is by no means official, even though it reportedly came from an official PlayStation account. The post was also shared by prominent Helldivers 2 leaker, Iron_S1ghts, but, again, it’s still not official as of writing. If the leaked date is accurate, then we only have less than a week to wait for the new update to drop. Right now, Super Earth soldiers are tasked with thinning the forces of the Illuminate, but the unfortunate news is that the three planets are “doomed to fall”: Widow’s Harbor, Pilen V, and New Haven. Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, the GPS-based action-RPG for mobile, has been cancelled — but it's not all bad news for Kingdom Hearts fans, as Square Enix confirmed it is still "hard at work" on Kingdom Hearts 4.Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link would have taken us to the realm of Scala ad Caelum in a new, original story in the grand battle against the Heartless on mobile devices, and had been originally slated to release in 2024.However, in an unsigned statement posted to the game's X/Twitter account, Square Enix wished to "convey [its] heartfelt apologies to everyone who have been looking forward" to it, but cancelled the project because it was "determined that it would be difficult [...] to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time." Some software updates pack in a number of features and changes, while others fundamentally overhaul the experience of using the device in question. iOS 18.5 is neither: This is a minor update, but that's to be expected. WWDC is next month, where Apple will almost assuredly announce iOS 19.But iOS 18.5 isn't an empty update. Once you install it on your iPhone, you will notice some changes—and some of the changes you don't notice are the most important of all. Here's everything that's new in the latest iOS update:An easy way to disable contact photos in MailWith iOS 18.2, Apple upgraded the Mail app. For some, the changes made the Mail app more organized and efficient to use. For others, it was bloated and confusing. Contact photos didn't help. The idea is that if you have a contact photo for a sender, it'll appear in the left side of the message in your inbox. However, if you don't have such a photo, Mail will use an image from Apple's stock library. Taste is subjective, but, frankly, these stock icons just don't look good. Luckily, you can disable them, but you'd never know that unless you're someone who loves diving through your Settings app. iOS 18.5 fixes that with an easy option right in the Mail app itself. It just got more difficult to bypass Screen Time settingsApple's Screen Time feature is a great tool for parents—and, I can only image, a pain for kids. Parents can set a passcode to lock Screen Time settings, and ensure that kids can't access aspects of their iPhone their parents don't want them to. Of course, passcodes are an infamously futile restriction, as savvy kids will always figure out how to break in. While Apple's isn't reinventing the passcode wheel with iOS 18.5, it is making Screen Time a bit more secure. Once you update, you'll receive a notification whenever the Screen Time passcode is used on a child's device. That won't stop your kids from figuring out your Screen Time passcode, but it will nip their fun in the bud pretty quickly.I imagine the kids will figure out some workaround to this feature in the future. But, for now, you have an additional tool to help ensure the restrictions stay in place. A new "Pride Harmony" wallpaper Credit: Apple In anticipation of Pride Month, Apple is rolling out a new "Pride Harmony" wallpaper for its various devices. The wallpaper features colors of the rainbow that adjust their positions as you move, lock, or unlock your iPhone or iPad. Apple also has a new Pride Edition Sport Band, which features a similar color scheme. Apple says its goal with the Pride Harmony design is to "celebrate the strength and beauty of LGBTQ+ communities around the world." It's easy to be cynical about corporate pride, but considering the times we live in, it's cool to see Apple continuing to be as openly supportive of the LGBTQ+ community as it has been in recent years. (Tim Cook's donations aside.)"Buy with iPhone" now available on third-party devicesWhen you buy something on the Apple TV's TV app (say that three times fast), you have the option to approve that purchase with your iPhone. With iOS 18.5, that feature is coming to the TV app on non-Apple devices. That way, you don't need to make the purchase on the TV app of another Apple device before being able to watch on your third-party device. Carrier-provided satellite features are now available on the iPhone 13 seriesSince 2023, Apple has officially supported satellite communications for all iPhones starting with the 14 series. If you're out without cell services, you can connect to a satellite to reach out to the authorities for help—or even just text a friend. Following this latest update, however, iPhone 13 users will be able to take advantage of satellite features as well. Apple Vision Pro app gets a bug fixThe update also fixes an issue with the Apple Vision Pro app, where the app may sometimes display a black screen. Security updatesiOS 18.5's sleeper feature is the security boost it provides your iPhone. In all, the update patches over 30 bugs. Luckily, Apple isn't aware of any exploits for these vulnerabilities, which means hackers have likely not used these flaws to target iPhone users. That said, the safest course of action is to update your iPhone as soon as possible, in case someone does figure out how to use these flaws against you. Plus, there are some non-hacking vulnerabilities here you should patch. FaceTime's mute button, for example, might not actually work, which should be more than enough reason to update to iOS 18.5. Check out how we test and review games here Stardew Valley creator Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone has committed to leaving Stardew updates behind to focus fully on his upcoming game Haunted Chocolatier.  While the creator has explained that he will probably make a Stardew Valley 2 someday, he also revealed that Haunted Chocolatier will be very “similar” to the beloved farming game.  Haunted Chocolatier might as well be Stardew Valley 2  In a new interview with PC Gamer, Barone explained that Haunted Chocolatier is a more action-focused take on the Stardew formula… but farming is replaced with chocolatier-ing.  Just like how farming in Stardew takes a backseat to the game’s life sim elements, Barone is doing the exact same with his new game. This means that action RPG gameplay may be important to some degree, but simply living in the world is more important.  “I will just say generally that it is a life sim game, and it is similar to Stardew Valley in many ways,” the creator said. “It’s the kind of game I like making. I’m really interested in Haunted Chocolatier to really crank up the imagination and the creativity. I want to go all out with doing weird and interesting things. I love giving people memorable experiences.” Barone explained that Haunted Chocolatier is designed to be the darker take on the Stardew experience, although it won’t be “evil” like its Diablo influences.  “I view [Stardew Valley] as sunny and bright and lush, and Haunted Chocolatier is more dark and mysterious,” he said. “Not evil dark, but just like mysterious dark, and a little bit paranormal, you know, things that, you’re not sure what this is all about.” Haunted Chocolatier is still years away, but it’s incredibly exciting to see more from ConcernedApe. After a decade of post-launch updates for Stardew, it’ll be incredibly exciting to see just how much the creator has grown when his next release finally launched.
