The Best And Wildest Grand Theft Auto 6 Theories We've Seen So Far
Lots of time to think...Both times Rockstar Games has dropped a new Grand Theft Auto VI trailer so far, the internet has been set ablaze. First, the heat comes from the excitement of people who have been waiting for this game for over a decade. Eventually, though, that excitement turns to wonder--and then the theorizing begins.Trailer 2 for GTA VI--which was released with no warning on May 6--is no exception. All corners of the internet have been combing the three-minute trailer for clues, references, or anything else that may provide some sort of window into what the next GTA adventure is going to include.We've completed some of our favorite theories here, from those who think the game might be bigger than Leonida can contain, to a few ideas about how Jason and Lucia's relationship is going to end up--spoiler warning for those theories, they don't think things are going to end well.Note that this is all speculation based on the trailer--like how the trailer seems to tip off some of the many side activities Jason and Lucia can get up to--and we won't know what's actually going to happen until Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on May 26, 2026. We wanted to preserve as much as possible the generous feeling of space.
A large stretch of open-plan desks runs along the main façade, while meeting rooms are arranged around the building's inner courtyard, shielded from the noise of the street. Skydance Games has delayed its extremely exciting upcoming Captain America and Black Panther game, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.
Originally set to release this year, the studio has officially delayed the title until 2026.
The second major delay of the year, the first being GTA 6, the upcoming action-adventure game will release in Early 2026 to make sure the game is the best experience possible for players.

In a statement on Twitter, or X if you’re like that, Skydance confirmed the early 2026 release date while also keeping details very light.
“We have an important update,” the studio explained.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves is understood to be considering reinstating a form of private financing to pay for public projects, including social infrastructure schemes such as schools, ahead of the launch of its 10-Year Infrastructure Strategy next month.
It would be the first major rollout of PFI in England since 2018, when then chancellor Philip Hammond declared the successor scheme to the original PFI programme as “inflexible and overly complex”.

Speaking at a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee in Parliament yesterday, Vickerstaff highlighted issues that had blighted historic PFI schemes where construction risk had been transferred to the private sector.
“Just what we’re seeing on school projects, leaking roofs is a consistent, constant drum beat, fire door stopping, acoustics, lighting levels, the ability of classrooms to be operable in a white board environment, problems around leisure centres or sports facilities, contamination of land, latent defects of refurbishments on old buildings creating real problems,” he said.
“The dash to get the schools ready for September, I cannot tell you how many PFI schools have that problem, and we need to get the private sector to fix it.”
But while Vickerstaff said he was “ambivalent” about a new generation of PFI contracts, he argued contractual arrangements on new schemes could contain less risk for the public purse if the government did decide to opt for this route in its infrastructure strategy.
“I would say that compared with 25 years ago, the asset management, the building information systems and computer aided facilities management has vastly improved so we’re dealing with a generation of contracts that would certainly by improved whether it’s public sector or private sector,” he said.
“I’m ambivalent but what we need to make sure is that we learn from the mistakes and definitely get them to fix what we’re experiencing in some situations.”
Vickerstaff added: “In terms of lessons learned, making sure construction is monitored by a clerk of works and independently certified would be a really important factor moving forward, because construction defects have been a problem because the construction contracts whether it be public sector or private sector have not been well monitored or controlled.”
Meanwhile, a new report by PwC has called on the government to explore a new generation of public-private finance in order to address the deficit in infrastructure including schools and healthcare.
The research, published today, found “strong market appetite” for a new model of public-private partnerships which could be based on the Mutual Investment Model developed in Wales.
PwC corporate finance associate director Dan Whittle said: “There is a strong view that public-private finance has a valuable role to play as a strategic tool to close the UK’s infrastructure gap, particularly at a time when we are constrained by fiscal rules.
“There is no need to reinvent the fundamentals of the PPP model.
What must continue to evolve is how we implement this model with refined risk allocation to reflect the current appetite of the market, smarter contract management, and a genuine partnership approach.”
The government is expected to unveil its infrastructure strategy alongside its spending review in June.

A former Rockstar Games developer that has previously worked on Grand Theft Auto 4 has said that the studio should work on a remaster of the game.
Responding to social media X users asking him a question about rumours surrounding a GTA 4 remaster, former technical director at the studio Obbe Vermeij said that it should happen, considering other successful remasters in recent times.
“I hadn’t heard those rumours,” posted Vermeij on X.
“I think GTA IV should be remastered.
It’s a great game and there have been a number of successful remasters recently.” Vermeij also wrote about wanting to see GTA 4 protagonist Niko Bellic return in some form, saying that he is still the best protagonist of the franchise in his opinion.
“I would like to see it updated,” Vermiej responded to a post asking his thoughts.
“Niko is still the best protagonist in any GTA game I think.”
Rumours about a remastered release of Grand Theft Auto 4 first started making the rounds all the way back in November 2021.
The rumours came in light of the at-the-time recent release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition.
At the time, the rumours indicated that the remaster would be released in 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, and that it would include the Episodes from Liberty City expansions as a bundle.
However, 2023 is a long time ago when it comes to video game releases, and Rockstar Games has still been quiet on the matter.
While smaller rumours kept popping up here and there, they started coming back in earnest this year.
A more recent rumour, courtesy of known Rockstar Games insider Tez2, indicated that a port for modern platforms is still in the works.
Taking to the GTA Forums, Tez2 said that Grand Theft Auto 4 is being ported to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and that work on the ports had been going on for more than a year.
While the post didn’t reveal too many details, it did indicate that Rockstar might be looking to tide fans of GTA 6 over in light of its recent delay to May 26, 2026 by releasing the GTA 4 port later this year.
The insider also said that the GTA 4 port would be part of a larger plan by Rockstar to also release a remaster of Max Payne 3 down the line.
The latter would be released in time with Remedy’s current work on remaking the original Max Payne games.
“Someone at R* hinted at the [GTA] IV port, and by now it should’ve gone up a year in development.+,” he wrote.
“We may end up seeing it drop later this year.
And it’s one more reason, in addition to existing reasons, the LCPP mod was taken down.
If they still follow their plan laid out from the pandemic days, they’ll do an MP3 port after IV.
So that is an opportunity to do a bundle or a Definitive Edition.
Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes, and a Max Payne 3 port.”
Grand Theft Auto 4 was originally released back in 2008 on Xbox 360 and PS3.
It has since also been released on PC, where it can still be played on modern systems alongside its Episodes from Liberty City story expansions.

It's been about a week since GTA6's second trailer, and this interview with TC Carson always rings back to me because of one question that he answered about the violence in video games.
The full interview is somewhere on Youtube and it was about promoting gow3.
The interview itself was conducted by Shogungamer, which I think closed down.
I've transcribed the question and answer below:
DO YOU THINK THE DOUBLE STANDARD BETWEEN CINEMA & GAME RATINGS WILL EVER END?
I think the problem...is that video games are always going to be perceived as children's items first.
And, until, you know - I don't think that's ever gonna change, because they're for kids! You know, now, there are video games that are for mature audiences.
There are older people playing games now.
There are kids who grew up playing video games that are now in their 20s and you know, 30s that are still playing video games so they want something a little more...a little more R-rated.
You know, and they should be able to have that.
But, ultimately video games are marketed toward children so there's always gonna be a little bit more scrutiny.
And they're really accessible to kids.
I have a...I have a mixed thing about the violence in video games.
I know that's strange coming from somebody playing *chuckles* one of the most violent characters in games.
But um, like this game here [gow3], I would, I have nephews that are young that I, I won't let them play this game.
It's too much for them! On the other hand, I have, you know, some godsons that older, you know, 18, 19, they love the game!
So, I...I think the labels are important, I think the stores should enforce the labels, you know, and I think the parents should enforce the labels.
Make sure you know what your kid is playing with.
That's the biggest thing right there.

throughout my entire life that I've played video games, I'll admit I played a lot of M rated games before I was even a teenager.
but I don't know if that was right, and I don't know if it'd be right if I allowed my future kids to do that too.
if there are restrictions in place to stop children especially young children (say like, younger than 13) from watching R rated movies or MA rated television, shouldn't the restrictions for video games be as strong?
the counter to this that I can think of is music.
Carson has a point about how accessible video games are to kids, but the entertainment medium that's most accessible is music.
Youtube is right there, and it won't censor music at all.
anyone can go straight there and listening to anything they want.
so restricting music for children is kind of a lost cause.

I don't see the difference.
It seems just as easy to set parental controls on a console as it is to do the same on a Netflix account.
I found it easy to watch mature content as it was to play mature games as a kid.
And once you get on the web you can see nearly whatever you want.

I grew up playing a good amount of M-rated games just as I grew up watching a bunch of TV-14 and TV-MA shows and rated R movies.
I think it's all about parenting styles and the maturity of the kids.
My parents did restrict what I was allowed to watch, but mot by following the guidelines of the rating systems

This is true but games and movies mostly aim for an m15 maximum rating because they know the higher they go on the scale the lower they are making their potential audience.

And tbh I'm fine with that, that's up to the artist and their funders as to what projects they want to make

Niko was the most relatable, yes.
I always thought that the main character of a GTA game being a war vet made perfect sense for all the stupid chaos you do in these games (which, granted, is still unrealistic for a vet), and his arch was pretty great.
Too bad if you play that game you have to endure Roman's constant calls to go bowling or something like that

I don't care for Niko and thought that gta iv's story was overrated.
The guys from V aren't as boring but they still are somewhat boring, and I didn't care for their story.

I prefer Tommy and CJ simply because they were both more fun.
Of the two I prefer Tommy because of Ray Liotta.

Besides, having a central romance, or even a romance at all, is not really something Rockstar has done outside of GTA 4 and Bully, at least to this extent.
