Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series is expected to make its debut later this year alongside the next-generation foldables. As we wait for the official unveil, renders of the purported smartwatches have surfaced which corroborate previous leaks and suggest that Samsung could bring the unique “Squircle” design of the Galaxy Watch Ultra to other models this year. According to a report, a total of three smartwatches may be launched as part of the Galaxy Watch 8 lineup.Squircle Design of Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 SeriesAndroid Headlines shared exclusive renders of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series in a report. Renders also suggest that the standard Galaxy Watch 8 will have a two-button design, while the Watch 8 Classic and 2025 Watch Ultra models could be equipped with three buttons, including a Quick button which may be accented in a different colour.Notably, it is a customisable button which is designed to toggle a workout mode or for playing a siren on the Galaxy Watch Ultra.The purported Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is also shown sporting a rotating physical dial, similar to other Classic models of the past. This usually gives it a more traditional watch aesthetic while retaining smartwatch functionality.This report corroborates a previous discovery in the animation files of the leaked One UI 8 Watch which hinted towards the implementation of the squircle design across Samsung's next generation Galaxy Watch lineup. The unreleased firmware contained references of two smartwatches — the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. Further, the report also suggested that the smartwatches could also benefit from stronger vibrations, aided by extended vibration pattern support akin to the flagship Galaxy Watch Ultra.

Global sportswear leader Nike is reportedly preparing to release the Air Max 1000 Oatmeal, its first fully 3D printed sneaker, with a launch tentatively scheduled for Summer 2025. While Nike has yet to confirm an official release date, industry sources suggest the debut may occur sometime between June and August. The retail price is expected to be approximately $210. This model marks a step in Nike’s exploration of additive manufacturing (AM), enabled through a collaboration with Zellerfeld, a German startup known for its work in fully 3D printed footwear. Building Buzz Online The “Oatmeal” colorway—a neutral blend of soft beige tones—has already attracted attention on social platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X. In April, content creator Janelle C. Shuttlesworth described the shoes as “light as air” in a video preview. Sneaker-focused accounts such as JustFreshKicks and TikTok user @shoehefner5 have also offered early walkthroughs. Before generating buzz online, the sneaker made a public appearance at ComplexCon Las Vegas in November 2024. There, its laceless, sculptural silhouette and smooth, seamless texture stood out—merging futuristic design with signature Air Max elements, such as the visible heel air unit. Reimagining the Air Max Legacy Drawing inspiration from the original Air Max 1 (1987), the Air Max 1000 retains the iconic air cushion in the heel while reinventing the rest of the structure using 3D printing. The shoe’s upper and outsole are formed as a single, continuous piece, produced from ZellerFoam, a proprietary flexible material developed by Zellerfeld. Zellerfeld’s fused filament fabrication (FFF) process enables varied material densities throughout the shoe—resulting in a firm, supportive sole paired with a lightweight, breathable upper. The laceless, slip-on design prioritizes ease of wear while reinforcing a sleek, minimalist aesthetic. Nike’s Chief Innovation Officer, John Hoke, emphasized the broader impact of the design, noting that the Air Max 1000 “opens up new creative possibilities” and achieves levels of precision and contouring not possible with traditional footwear manufacturing. He also pointed to the sustainability benefits of AM, which produces minimal waste by fabricating only the necessary components. Expansion of 3D Printed Footwear Technology The Air Max 1000 joins a growing lineup of 3D printed footwear innovations from major brands. Gucci, the Italian luxury brand known for blending traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques, unveiled several Cub3d sneakers as part of its Spring Summer 2025 (SS25) collection. The brand developed Demetra, a material made from at least 70% plant-based ingredients, including viscose, wood pulp, and bio-based polyurethane. The bi-material sole combines an EVA-filled interior for cushioning and a TPU exterior, featuring an Interlocking G pattern that creates a 3D effect. Elsewhere, Syntilay, a footwear company combining artificial intelligence with 3D printing, launched a range of custom-fit slides. These slides are designed using AI-generated 3D models, starting with sketch-based concepts that are refined through AI platforms and then transformed into digital 3D designs. The company offers sizing adjustments based on smartphone foot scans, which are integrated into the manufacturing process. Ethan Hunt and the IMF team race against time to find a rogue artificial intelligence (why is AI always the bad guy now if films? ) that can destroy mankind. AI, IMF & VFX: A Mission Worth Rendering In the latest episode of The VFXShow podcast, hosts Matt Wallin, Jason Diamond, and Mike Seymour reunite to dissect the spectacle, story, and seamless visual effects of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. As the eighth entry in the franchise, this chapter serves as a high-stakes, high-altitude crescendo to Tom Cruise’s nearly 30-year run as Ethan Hunt,  the relentless agent of the Impossible Mission Force. Cruise Control: When Practical Meets Pixel While the narrative revolves around the existential threat of a rogue AI known as The Entity, the real heart of the film lies in its bold commitment to visceral, real-world action. The VFX team discusses how Cruise’s ongoing devotion to doing his own death-defying stunts, from leaping between bi-planes to diving into the wreckage of a sunken submarine,  paradoxically increases the importance of invisible VFX. From seamless digital stitching to background replacements and subtle physics enhancements, the effects work had to serve the story without ever betraying the sense of raw, in-camera danger. Matt, Jason, and Mike explore how VFX in this film plays a critical supporting role, cleaning up stunts, compositing dangerous sequences, and selling the illusion of globe-spanning chaos. Whether it’s simulating the collapse of a Cold War-era submarine, managing intricate water dynamics in Ethan’s deep-sea dive, or integrating AI-driven visualisations of nuclear catastrophe, the film leans heavily on sophisticated post work to make Cruise’s practical stunts feel even more grounded and believable. The team also reflects on the thematic evolution of the franchise. While the plot may twist through layers of espionage, betrayal, and digital apocalypse, including face-offs with Gabriel, doomsday cults, and geopolitical brinkmanship,  it is not the team’s favourite MI film. And yet, they note, even as the story veers into sci-fi territory with sentient algorithms and bunker-bound AI traps, the VFX never overshadows the tactile performance at the film’s centre. Falling, Flying, Faking It Beautifully For fans of the franchise, visual effects, or just adrenaline-fueled cinema, this episode offers a thoughtful cinematic critique on how modern VFX artistry and old-school stuntwork can coexist to save a film that has lost its driving narrative direction. Rumors strongly suggest that Apple will be overhauling the MacBook Pro in 2026, marking five years since the previous redesign that we know and love today. There are three key rumors to follow with this redesigned MacBook Pro, and we’ll be delving into them here. OLED display After debuting in the iPad Pro in 2024, Apple is expected to introduce OLED display technology to the MacBook Pro for the very first time with the redesign in 2026. This’ll provide higher brightness, better contrast ratios, and nicer colors to the MacBook Pro lineup for the very first time. Plus, according to TheElec, Apple will be using the same Tandem OLED display tech as the aforementioned iPad Pro: The OLED MacBook Air is also expected to get a standard single-stack display, rather than the more sophisticated Two-Stack Tandem displays we reported on for the MacBook Pro. Single-stack displays have one red, green and blue layer, while two-stack tandem OLED has a second RGB layer. Two layers stacked in tandem increases the brightness of the screen, while also increasing longevity. While transitioning to OLED, Apple may also ditch the notch, in favor of a smaller camera hole cutout. This information comes from Omdia, who describes it as a “rounded corner + hole cut.” The report doesn’t specify whether or not it’ll be a single hole punch, or something more similar to Dynamic Island on the iPhone. Either way, there won’t be as chunky of a cutout in your MacBook Pro display once the redesign arrives. Thinner design According to Bloomberg, Apple will be adopting a new, thinner design with the 2026 MacBook Pro. There aren’t many other details specified, so it’s unclear if the overall chassis design will change: Though Apple has continued to enhance the product with new chips and other internal improvements, the MacBook Pro probably won’t get another true overhaul until 2026. The company had once hoped to release this new version in 2025 — with a thinner design and a move to crisper OLED screens — but there were delays related to the display technology. Cutting-edge M6 chip Apple will also debut the M6 family of chips in this new MacBook Pro redesign. Currently, M6 is anticipated to be the first generation of Apple Silicon to adopt TSMC’s 2nm technology, alongside the A20 chip for iPhone. As per usual, we should see M6, M6 Pro, and M6 Max versions of the MacBook Pro, in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. With a new process node, we should see noticeable performance and efficiency gains. Wrap up Overall, the biggest feature of this upgrade is certainly the fact that the MacBook Pro will be adopting OLED. That said, I’ll certainly appreciate the thinner design – particularly on the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which currently comes in at 4.7 pounds. In case you aren’t too fond of waiting around a year and a half to buy a new MacBook Pro, there are some good discounts on the current M4 MacBook Pro models now that they’re around halfway through their lifespan. You can pick up an M4 14-inch for $1429, an M4 Pro 14-inch for $1779, or an M4 Pro 16-inch for $2249. These are all around $200 off compared to their typical prices.
