POLYSTRIKE: Tactical 5v5 Shooter
t’s been one year since we began the journey of creating POLYSTRIKE, and what a year it’s been. From concept to working multiplayer builds, we’ve poured our hearts into building something unique—fast-paced, competitive, and visually striking.
What is POLYSTRIKE?
POLYSTRIKE is a top-down, team-based shooter where precise movement, smart ability usage, and instant action define every match. Inspired by titles like Counter-Strike, Valorant, and Battlerite, our game combines the tension of tactical gameplay with the responsiveness of arcade-style combat.
Genre: Top-down shooter
Engine: Unreal Engine
Platform: PCModes: 5v5 multiplayer
Combat Style: Instant hit, WASD movement, dash and shield mechanics
A Year in Review
We started with a small idea and a dream to build something competitive and visually sharp. Over the past year, we’ve achieved:
A fully working multiplayer prototype
5v5 matches with instant trace shooting mechanics 8 unique weapon types Hero abilities like dash and shield, each with cooldowns Faction-based art direction and UI A remote team of 30+ passionate contributors from across the worldWe tested dozens of iterations on mechanics, animations, movement speed, damage values, and hit registration. Our shooting system uses instant hitscan for responsive gameplay, and all projectile visuals are unified in speed for balance.
Challenges We Faced
Indie development is never easy—especially when it’s remote, unfunded, and passion-driven.
Keeping the team motivated without pay
Managing scope while staying ambitious
Making tough calls on what features to postponeDespite that, our retention has been incredibly high. Out of 30+ contributors, only 3 have left. The rest continue to believe in the project and its vision.

More polish on UI/UX and VFX Skill tree system for heroes More maps and faction-specific content Pushing for funding or publisher supportWe’re getting ready to share the game with the world, and the next big goal is to get POLYSTRIKE in players’ hands. Our goal is to launch a closed playtest soon and gather feedback from early supporters.
