Popular AI services are not very good at locating the correct original source, according to a new study from Columbia Journalism Reviews Tow Center for Digital Journalism.In the study, researchers selected 10 articles from 20 different publishers and then manually selected quotes from them to use in their queries. After each chatbot got the quotes, it was asked to identify the corresponding articles title, original publisher, and publication date.The researchers deliberately chose quotes that would give the correct original source if typed into the Google search engine.In total, eight different AI chatbots were tested and, on average, they produced the wrong source 60% of the time. Perplexity performed best and still got the citation wrong 37% of the time. The worst performer was Grok 3, which was wrong 94% of the time.The researchers note that while most of the AI tools produced incorrect answers, they still presented them with great confidence. This was particularly true for paid versions of the AI chatbots. The researchers also found evidence that the AI chatbots web spiders often ignored publishers paywalls they were supposed to respect.

According to a report in The New Republic, the federal government has, under the direction of the White House and President Trump, begun a process to bring criminal charges against "environmental" groups such as Habitat for Humanity for Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grants they received from the Biden administration.The report cites a Citibank court filing thatincludes an FBI claim of 'conspiracy to defraud the United States' on the part the nonprofit. The EPA is currently slashing staff and shedding regional offices while also gutting regulations under its new Administrator, Lee Zeldin. The grants in question were derived from theGreenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, which received $27 billion as part of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. At the time, the Act had passed the Senate by a vote of 51-50.

As a reference to its working title, the Dark Odyssey Collection will add Kratos black and gold skin to God of War Ragnarok. Best of all, you wont have to beat the game on the highest difficulty.On top of the Dark Odyssey Kratos skin, players will also get a Dark Odyssey Armor set, including a breastplate, bracers, and belt. Atreus and Freya will also get Dark Odyssey armor, and you can also change the appearance of the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, and Draupnir Spear. They also get new attachments, though youll need the fully upgraded weapons.If that wasnt enough, each shield also gets its own Dark Odyssey skin.
