  • Pondering the depths and delights of 'plunderludics' in tapecaria
    www.gamedeveloper.com
The IGF (Independent Games Festival) aims to encourage innovation in game development and to recognize independent game developers advancing the medium. This year, Game Developer sat down with the finalists for the IGFs Nuovo and Grand Prize nominees ahead of GDC to explore the themes, design decisions, and tools behind each entry. Game Developer and GDC are sibling organizations under Informa.tapearia is an exploration of possibility in virtual space, doing so through the use of cut and sampled segments from PSX and N64 games.Game Developer spoke with mut, the creator of the Nuovo Award-nominated experience, to talk about how they managed to make elements from games on different consoles play well together, the process by which they chose the moments from older games they wanted to sample for this project, and the new appreciation for fine details it gives them as they work with samples of these past games. Who are you, and what was your role in developing tapearia?I am mut (pronounced "moochi"), from Brasilia (but residing in NYC) and, according to my partner whom I just asked, I'm a "playful loving person."I pretty much made tapearia myselfor maybe you can say I am the gatherer and weaver of its preexisting parts. In its development, I also worked closely with my friends Gurn Group and Jonny Hopkins, in our exploration of working with preexisting video games to create new stuff, which we call "plunderludics."Related:What's your background in making games?I have been making games for a while now (over 10 years) and did so initially mostly from a programmers/tech perspective. Then, especially since 2018, doing so with a deeper interest in games as an art form, particularly through an interest in folk games and, later on, metagaming. How did you come up with the concept for tapearia?tapearia came about when me and my friends (which we would later call "plunderludics working group") were meeting weekly to develop and explore our ideas of "plunderludics"games (or anything else) made from preexisting games. [It is] a way to collage actual video games together. AP Thompson and Bennett Foddy's Multibowl, Allistair Aitcheson's Magic Box, and Jonny's own Tetris but all at Once were big inspiration points, alongside Stephanie Boluk and Patrick LeMieux's works and concept of Metagaming.Gurn Group and I had been meeting weekly for some months at this point, and we were invited by Lawra Suits Clark to show some of our work at Babycastles' maybe the last event ever maybe, which we also invited Jonny to. Later on, we wanted to make an entire show, Spring Salad at boshi's place (at the time still unnamed), exclusively on plunderludics, showing some new work and also many of preexisting plunderludics work (going all the way back to Cory Archangel's stuff.Related:For that show, I started exploring some ideas of having different games with the same input (early on it was going back and forth). I was trying to create a digital version of a theater game/score I am really fascinated with. I think it's called Lane Work, from The Viewpoints Book, where actors are restricted to only moving back and forth in their own lanes, at different speeds (and then allowed a single action and a single phrase). The couple of times I played or watched it had been really powerful, and so I thought that could be an interesting direction to make something out of preexisting games.Eventually, instead of having multiple games showing at the same time and inspired by this Increpare game Running Memories, I started playing around with crossfading them at different intervals. I was also very interested in modular synthesizers, so at this point I was changing the characters moving speed (the controller analog input) based on knobs, as well as the rate the crossfading happened. The effect was really mesmerizing, and at this point I realized that I could try making the fade actually have something related to the actual movement rather than it being a thing that happened in time.Related:So, I spent a good amount of time figuring out good ways to make this happen, and instead of having the position of the characters in the games themselves dictate the crossfading, I made an invisible map where an invisible character would walk around, and in doing so would crossfade the games that were being displayed. From there, it was mostly technical issues and finding "samples" and placing them in the map.(This is what it looks like on the inside. You are that square walking around a big map. The three closest games to you get crossfaded)What development tools were used to build your game? The main tools I used for tapearia were the multi console emulator BizHawk for playing, "sampling," and playing back video games from many sources (and which has a great API to do a lot of what we do). I also used Unity for compositing the games' visual output and the logic in which that happens. The latest version makes use of our awesome toolset UnityHawk, which allows us to very seamlessly integrate BizHawk within Unity. UnityHawk is extremely handy and replaced my early-on convoluted patchwork stack of Python scripts sending and receiving OSC messages from Unity and BizHawk. I also used the modular synthesizer emulator VCV rack in the prototyping phase.tapearia weaves together many games from PSX and N64 into its exploration of memory, nostalgia, and movement in digital spaces. What challenges do you face in weaving these experiences from different consoles together into a single playable experience? How do you bring multiple games together, let alone ones from different systems?I think the previous question answers this, but I can go into a bit more detail. Earlier on, I was using Unity to composite images from the BizHawk emulator using this library: uWindowCapture. This allowed me to capture different emulator windows running in the background into textures in Unity. Then, there was a Python script bridging Unity and BizHawk through this protocol called OSC. With that, I could send messages to and from Unity and to and from BizHawks LUA scripting toolset. That was a huge mess, and starting it up was also very unstable. Gurn Group and our friend Dan over the next year put a lot of effort into simplifying all of this by creating UnityHawk, which allows us to basically communicate directly to BizHawk from Unity and not have all those extra layers of indirection. The multiple systems issue is solved by BizHawk, which is a godsend for us, allowing us to very seamlessly run games from a lot of different consoles. One friction point was that sometimes some games didn't take analog input, or the d-pad would affect the game differently, so I had to make sure each game had a correct input mapping so they all ran smoothly (if you look closely, you can see that Mega Man, for some reason, only turns right. I never got that one).Has mixing these games together resulted in any interesting unintended results? Created something useful that may have taken you by surprise?I am always really excited to see moments where players move beyond the places that I preselected for them. Sometimes this happened because I didn't know it was possible to get there without jumping, but most times its because they either die or hit a condition in which the game is expecting input other than moving (a cutscene or a dialogue). I think a lot of these moments create an exciting variation on the general infinite going forward of the game. I particularly love this one moment where you can get to a dialogue in Majora's Mask saying that you have a stupid horse while in Croc you are stuck on a moving platform. How does it feel to repurpose and reshape the works of others in such a way that they pull from their existing meanings while also creating whole new ones? What interests you about creating things in this way?For me, the most exciting thing about "plundering," as we call it, is having a whole new view on playing any game. I notice how the characters move in all of them, how long it takes for the game to boot and actually get into gameplay, how long it takes to be free from a tutorial interrupting you, how the swimming animation looks, how there seem to be bridges pretty early on in every game, how some 3D games have animations when pushing against walls and some don't, the different colors of the grass, places in which you can't jump if your character is stuck (I call these jump prisons), and many many more.I hope that making playable things in this way will also make people imagine their own possibilities, and also make an intuitive understanding that games are what we make out of the tools we are given. Playing Tomb Raider because you want a snapshot of all the tigers is in the same level of playing it to get to see the entire story.I also appreciate the historical aspects of it. While I can't deny the nostalgia factor of this project, I think it's important to be able to look at old games and think of them as "good for their time," rather than simply good on their own. Video game development is not a linearly progressing form, and many, many interesting things have been lost for the sake of streamlining and maximizing engagement. A lot of these early games are really bad, but a lot of them also surprise me immensely (the semi tank movement in Croc, for example, feels like something lost to the modern 3D platformer). Finally, I think it's also interesting in new games, as in new rules and objectives, rather than new content. We, as game developers, love mashing our loved references together to create new work anywayMetroidvanias, Soulslikes, roguelikes etc.. We recreate these ideas from scratch over and over, without much examination on what that process is actually giving us.(Oops, I wrote a manifesto). What appealed to you about creating an experience by connecting several other games together? Cross-fading them over one another and connecting them? How did crafting tapearia in this way help enhance its themes?I was interested in the different ways it felt to move in the different 3D games, in the ways in which sometimes it feels like you were moving in one game but in a different game's scenery, and also in the dream-like narrative that arises out of the crossfading. The crossfading being driven by the movement of the player allowed me to make the feeling of actually moving between gamesof it feeling like certain laces led to other laces.I personally didn't have particular themes in mind as I was making it. I pretty much trusted the process and let the games guide some internal meaning that could arise out of the piece. I think tapearia works pretty much as a conceptual plunderludics worksomething to spark the possibility space of making games out of other games: "here's a very simple structure to combine together multiple games, in any amount. Now, imagine the possibilities of making it more intentionalof highly crafting the transitions."I remember once talking to Bennett Foddy about the dream of making a narrative/single player version of Multibowl, a video game with its own arc/story that is made completely out of premade pieces from other games. I don't think tapearia achieves this, but I hope it makes people imagine it as well, and maybe even live tiny, uncurated narrative moments for themselves while roaming around. I'm hoping to bring a new version of tapearia to GDC that will have an ever grander set of games, and an even more intentional placement of things in the map.Why did you include the games that you choose for tapearia? Why these specific titles? This is a funny question. There's, again, not a lot of intention behind it, I wanted to have as many games as possible for the initial show where I was gonna display it, but I also didn't want to simply play games until the very first playable moment and then switch to the next game. This was, in a way, also a research project in 3D game movement. So, I was pretty much going down a list of games that sounded interesting, playing them for a bit, and "sampling" them in the meantime until I felt like moving on.The sampling aspect itself is more interesting and curated. I had some samples beforehand that I was using for testing and stayed on the final project, like Link on top of a tree which I was using for this earlier experiment. However, once I decided to not have the jump button in the games, I started looking for jump prisons, and created my own little game out of searching for save states (I like calling them samples): finding locations in which, if the character can't jump, you are stuck in a particular area. There's not many of those, but I am always excited when I find something like that. I particularly love the one in Croc where you walk on the moving platform. Thats probably my favorite sample. Finally, I also started sampling moments where characters were in similar states, like being on a bridge, or being in a green place, or swimming; things like that. I didn't end up using a lot of these since I didn't want the same game to repeat too much, but I hope to expand on the project with more things like this.Oh, and I have also been fascinated with Any Austin's youtube series Unremarkable and odd Places, and the sample from Spyro was taken straight from that. What interested you about exploring movement and the possibilities in 3D space? What ideas went into crafting a play space that would get the player to think on itThis is a great final question for me to segue into shamelessly using this moment to promote my own, more commercially viable, work. While tapearia is a work within my plunderludics practice, it is also a research project for melooking at a variety of 3D platformers and seeing what works and what doesn't, what might've been forgotten in the past, and how we got to the kind of games we have today. Myself and my friends are working on pondlife: discone (a videogame) (Wishlist pls) which is the best 3D platformer game of all time (As in, it's already the best. We are simply still working on it to make it even better). Since we are developing a lot of our movement system from the ground up and reinventing the wheel in many ways, its great to be able to travel back to the time when the wheel was being invented and see what people were doing back then!I am very interested in movement in gamesthe general embodying you can achieve with different controls, as well as the feeling of mastery and weirdness of exploring a new body. I also like playing games in ways they are not intended to be played (mostly trying to climb things that were not made to be climbed), so I also like playing these games in search of such structuresunintentionally designed challenges that work regardless, or in fact, work because of, the way these games work. Its fascinating to me.I love seeing people take these challenges even further, like the Mario 64 half A press challenge, trying to beat Dark Souls 3 without walking, playing 4 instances of Mega Man at the same time, randomized Zelda, and many more. These are all kinds of play that I want to be able to encourage others to think more about. Finally, if anyone is interested in a speedrunning version of tapearia, please reach out. I would love to make that a reality. I'm mut.media everywhere.

  • Multiple Tesla vehicles were set on fire in Las Vegas and Kansas City
    www.theverge.com
A month of anti-Tesla dissent escalated this week with two reports of Teslas catching fire in Las Vegas and Kansas City. The first incident happened early Tuesday morning at a Tesla collision center in Las Vegas, where police say a suspect in all-black gear hit several vehicles with Molotov cocktails and three bullets and painted the word resist on the doors of the facility, reports Las Vegas Review-Journal.During a press conference, Deputy Fire Chief Jennifer Wyatt said the fire department was able to extinguish two Tesla vehicles before the batteries ignited. FBI Special Agent Spencer Evans also spoke at the press conference, saying the incident was initially categorized as arson and is now being investigated by the FBIs joint terrorism task force. I encourage anyone thats considering something like this to seriously reconsider, Evans said.In posts on X following the incident, Tesla CEO Elon Musk called the incidents terrorism and said the company just makes electric cars and has done nothing to deserve these evil attacks. We reached out for an update from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and were told theres nothing to report since the press conference. The suspect remains at large. In Kansas City, Police Captain Jacob Becchina said in a statement that an officer first observed smoke coming from a Cybertruck parked in a Tesla parking lot. The officer used his fire extinguisher, however KCFD was still needed as he could not put the fire out, Becchina said. The fire spread to a second Cybertruck parked next to the original burning one. The circumstances are under investigation but preliminarily the fire is being investigated for the potential of being an Arson.See More:

Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed a prototype of the companys first fully driverless vehicle tonight during its long-awaited robotaxi event. The new vehicle is dubbed the Cybercab, and Tesla let guests at the event ride around in them at the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California. The nights surprise, however, was a brand-new Robovan transport vehicle that can be configured as mass transit or a cargo carrier. For years, Musk has been promising that a driverless Tesla vehicle was just two years away. Many delays later, Musk has shown fans and investors something. Their reaction to the We, Robot event will be a referendum on whether Musk can deliver real self-driving technology that can compete with robotaxi companies like Waymo and Cruise. You can find out more about what Tesla announced at the event with our live coverage below.HighlightsToday, 21 minutes agoAndrew J. • Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League Review
    www.ign.com
DC villains arent known for the practicality of their evil schemes: laughing fish, stealing stuff by twos, leaving behind a clue in the form of a riddle, things of that nature. But it says something about the sensibility of Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League that, when confronted with the villainous plot of the main bad guy (which involves firing gangsters into the air with a giant gun), a kidnapped Damian Wayne quips, This is so dumb. You guys are out of your damn minds. You may hear Batman fighting yakuza and think it sounds like a badass crime drama, but this is not that. And its all the better for it.Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League is a gleeful tribute to American comic book nonsense and this is meant with nothing but affection stupid anime tropes, even more than its 2018 predecessor, in which the Bat-Family went back in time to feudal Japan and had to fight multiple robotic castles fused together into a giant Joker mech. Theres an impromptu musical number so one character can explain her emotions, one hero gets a Super Sentai-esque suit upgrade thats never explained, and the trusty Batwing is replaced with a needlessly complicated, multi-vehicle combiner thing thats introduced in a genuinely incredible 2D-animated homage to Super Robot cartoons like Voltron. That sequence in particular may be the standout moment of Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League, which revolves around the Dark Knight battling evil criminal versions of his closest friends. Presumably due to the time-wrecking events of the previous Batman Ninja movie, Japan has disappeared from the Earth and reappeared floating in the sky above Gotham City. Batman needs a way to fly up to it, so Alfred introduces not the new Bat Phoenix combiner vehicle itself, but an OVA about how cool the Bat Phoenix is. The entire lengthy start-up sequence of everyone being carried to their seat by the kind of giant tubes that anime fans have seen countless times isnt really happening within Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League. Its just Alfred saying Look at this video I made. As Damian says: Its so dumb, but its also very fun.Nobody involved in this project seems to have taken any part of it particularly seriously, but they do play it as straight as they would if this were a more normal Batman story which makes it all the more entertaining. Its a movie that starts with the Gotham police force fighting off a Yakuza Hurricane (think Sharknado, but with gangsters), and everyone acts like thats a normal thing. Batman Ninja takes a while to get goofy, leaving its intended tone a little unclear. Its sequel doesnt bother checking to see if youre in on the joke. You either are or you arent, and if you are, youre in for quite a ride.Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League GalleryComedy aside, this is also an action movie, and a pretty good one at that. Granted, Batman or the Bat-Family fighting the Justice League is a thing weve seen many, many times now, but theres some added depth here due to the fact that the Yakuza League isnt necessarily evil. Batman doesnt want to kill or even imprison them, he wants to try and save their souls, which ties in with the movies repeated references to ninky, or the supposed code of honor among yakuza. The character designs arent quite as dramatic as the samurai armor and katanas of Batman Ninja (a present-day setting will do that), but the eponymous Yakuza League members all pull from a slightly different aesthetic, and theyre all great. The yakuza Superman wears formal blue robes and has a red coat over his shoulders (to mirror his cape, of course), and he completes the look with big aviator sunglasses to make it clear that hes a gangster. It may be one of the best evil Superman looks ever. Going with the Jessica Cruz version of Green Lantern rather than the better known Hal Jordan or John Stewart opens up some interesting costuming avenues, too. She wears layers of green robes with some kind of maniacal-looking teddy bear strapped to her back, but the standout feature is her hair, which is held up with pins that look like the Green Lantern emblem and were clearly conjured by her power ring. Its a thoughtful design that takes her powers and personality into account. Its a positive sign that theres still space for silly fun in this fictional universe. If theres something negative to say about Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League, its that it doesnt have a whole lot to offer beyond the face-off promised in the title. Its junk food, like a lot of superhero stuff and a lot of anime, but its delicious and tooth-meltingly sweet as far as junk food goes. And at a time when popular culture is dominated by superheroes, concepts like this one are somewhat rare. The audience for a movie with Batman in it is so big that a less serious outing like this runs the risk of alienating viewers who expect something big and important from the Caped Crusader. Its a positive sign that theres still space for silly fun in this fictional universe.Case in point: This movie doesnt even really care about Batman Ninja canon. The previously defeated Joker naturally appears in Yakuza League, but its just to help get Batman out of a scrape so they can someday fight each other again later. Batmans reaction? Thats dumb. Everythings a little dumb in this movie, but Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League is about how much fun it can be when everything is a little dumb.

  • Holland Review
    www.ign.com
Holland streams on Prime Video beginning Thursday, March 27. This review is based on a screening at the 2025 SXSW FIlm and TV Festival.A small town with a secret isnt an inherently American trope plenty of Nordic murder mysteries revolve around the concept, for example but it does pair ever so deliciously with wholesome Americana. David Lynch knew that theres a guilelessness to retro diners and suburban cul-de-sacs that makes the evil that resides in the hearts of the people there both sinister and hilarious, as did the Coen Brothers when they made Fargo back in 1996. The new Nicole Kidman vehicle Holland draws more from the latter, trying hard to wring sardonic commentary out of the contrast between its setting Holland, Michigan, the Upper Midwests little slice of the Netherlands and its story, which begins with lies and infidelity and gets more sordid from there.Holland begins with a montage of sunny tulip fields and windmills cut together with blonde children posing in wooden shoes and white Dutch bonnets, straining to smile with braces on their teeth. Before I moved to Holland, I was afraid and confused and couldnt trust anyone, Kidman says in voiceover. The Oscar winner puts on a specific-enough gahsh-durnit accent for her starring role as Nancy Vandergroot, a part-time home ec teacher and wife of the local eye doctor. Combined with the open-mouthed naivet with which she greets, well, everything a moment when she reacts with shocked amusement to a scene in Mrs. Doubtfire is as funny as Holland gets she creates the impression of a sheltered woman who thinks that brown mustard is spicy. Except she isnt, because we already heard her contradict that in her opening narration. This is presumably supposed to create some sort of tension. But for a movie with this much intrigue, Holland is remarkably lacking in suspense. Much of the blame can be placed on plotting that creates and then abandons multiple storylines. For example: Rachel Sennott of Bottoms and Bodies Bodies Bodies fame appears in a cameo (shes fourth billed, but its not substantial enough to be called a supporting role) as the Vandergroots babysitter Candy, who Nancy accuses of theft after one of her pearl earrings goes missing. Nancy later locates the earring, but we never find out if Candy got her job back. Kind of rude for such self-proclaimed nice people, honestly.Still, thats nothing compared to how callous the movie is towards Dave (Gael Garca Bernal), Nancys coworker and co-conspirator after she becomes convinced that her husband, Fred (Matthew Macfayden), is cheating on her. Dave is obviously in love with Nancy. And, whether shes oblivious or purposely leading him on, she takes advantage of his enthusiasm. Dave is also a Chicano in a majority white town, and Holland underlines his outsider status with a scene where a local drunkard and his large son harass him at home. This is never resolved, and neither is poor Daves fate as Holland awkwardly hurtles towards an unsatisfying conclusion. Holland GalleryTheres a major issue with the way Holland handles a huge disclosure two-thirds of the way through: Without giving it away, its something that would be an inciting incident or the climactic scene of a better movie. As it is, this one already has plenty going on, and doesnt seem to know what to do with this information once its revealed. So it takes an easy (and lazy) out, inserting surrealist dream sequences at random points so it can question the reality of everything weve seen when none of it adds up at the end.How does director Mimi Cave busy herself while her story unravels? Winking kitsch, mostly. Holland pointedly takes place in the year 2000, and Pogs (a little late, but okay), the Windows 95 screensaver, and Blockbuster all get their little moments of screen time. As someone who was in high school in the Midwest in 2000, begrudging respect must be given to the set decoration: The Vandergroot home is a Laura Ashley nightmare, full of quilts, wicker, colonial-style furniture, and a mirrored cabinet stuffed with Precious Moments figurines.Amusing close-ups and tongue-in-cheek humor can only take a film so far.Thats all amusing for a few seconds at a go, as are Kidmans comedic facial expressions and wholesome non-swears. But amusing close-ups and tongue-in-cheek humor can only take a film so far, even with a capable and experienced performer like Kidman at the helm. Its not a great leap to accept Nicole Kidman as a neglected, sexually frustrated housewife she does play them a lot, for whatever reason. But theres more to creating a world than shelves full of period-accurate knickknacks.

  • Another city is giving out free AirTags to combat car thefts
    9to5mac.com
AirTags arent designed to prevent theft, but theyve proven to be a really useful tool. Now, the Denver Police Department has announced it will give out hundreds of AirTags as part of its ongoing efforts to prevent car thefts. The Denver Police Department is teaming up with the Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority (CATPA) to distribute 450 AirTag and Samsung SmartTag item trackers to residents, as spotted by Gizmodo. In an announcement this week, the Denver Police Department said: With the goal of preventing auto thefts in Denver and quickly locating stolen vehicles and suspects, the Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority (CATPA) is partnering with the Denver Police Department (DPD) to provide a limited number of free Airtag or SmartTag Bluetooth location tracking devices to Denver residents who register for the DenverTrack auto theft prevention program during this promotional event. An AirTag in and of itself cant prevent theft. It can, however, serve as a deterrent. It can also help recover your car if it is stolen. Notably, it will be up to you to provide location data to the police should your car get stolen. The Denver Police Department is not given direct access to the location. Instead, you add the AirTag to your Apple Account, place it in your car, and track it via the Find My app. If your car gets stolen, you can share the location with the police to help find it. In the unfortunate event a vehicle is stolen, the vehicle owner is responsible for providing the location of their vehicle to responding officers, according to the Denver Police Department: Denver isnt the first city to take an AirTag approach to cracking down on car thefts: Denver residents interested in snagging a free AirTag can sign up on the citys website. • Here are five features in Apples Invites app you might have missed
    9to5mac.com
Apple Invites is a brand new app for your iPhone that just launched last month. It offers a fun way to create and share event invites with great Apple Photos and Apple Music integrations. Here are five features of the Invites app that you might have missed.Quickly re-create event invitesIf you host similar events regularlymaybe a book club, happy hour, or work meetingyou can quickly start a new invite by duplicating a previous one.Just open the event you want to copy, tap the three dots in the top-right corner, and hit Duplicate. The guest list of the original event wont be copied over, so youll need to manually add recipients again. But otherwise, duplicating the event will give you a nice head start on the new invite.Customize your notificationsIf you enable push notifications for the Invites app, Apple lets you further customize the types of notifications you receive with five total options. Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner of the app, then Push Notifications, and youll see toggles for the following notification categories:Events youre hostingEvents youre invited toRecommendationsNew features and tipsOffersIf you prefer to get email alerts instead of push notifications (or in addition to them), theres an option for that too. By tapping your profile picture youll find an Email Updates menu, where you can toggle on email alerts for events youre hosting and/or ones youre invited to.Privacy features for eventsApple offers a variety of privacy-conscious features inside the Invites app. These include the ability to:require approval for all RSVPs before theyre confirmedhide key details until guests are confirmed, such as location, guest list, event background image, and morecreate one-time-use invites personalized for specific guests, or use a generic link that works for anyoneAdditionally, if you receive an invite, your personal contact information wont be visible to other guests, and you can choose how your name and image are displayed.Special guest permissionsJust as you might expect from an app like Invites, Apples app lets you decide whether to allow guests to add their own guests to the event. But the Invites app goes a bit further too. In addition to the all-or-nothing invite permission that applies to all guests, you can also get more granular and allow only certain guests to make their own invites. This can be done by opening the guest list, then tapping the three dots next to a person and hitting Allow to invite others.Draft in advance and save your workLike to plan ahead? Apples Invites app fully supports that. When creating new invites, you dont have to send them right away. Instead, you can create as many drafts as youd like and save them for later. When youre ready to send, just visit the Drafts section of the app, make any last-minute changes, and send the invite. Also, if you get an invite completely ready to go but want to schedule it for later, the scheduling features included in Apples Messages and Mail apps have you covered.Apple Invites app feature wrap-upFor a freshly arrived app, Apple Invites feels especially full-featured. There are always things Apple could add later, such as even more app integrations (cost-splitting with Wallet, perhaps?). But whats available in this early version is impressive and meets all the basic needs most users will haveand then some. What have your favorite Apple Invites features been so far?
