The modder who released a playable recreation of the Grand Theft Auto 6 map in Grand Theft Auto 5 has ceased all work on the project after being hit by a takedown from Rockstar owner TakeTwo.Dark Space had created a free-to-download playable GTA 5 map based on leaked coordinate data and official trailer shots of GTA 6, and uploaded gameplay footage to his YouTube channel. His videos and his mod hit the headlines in January as information-starved GTA fans flocked to experience a fan-made approximation of what they can expect to play officially when GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S this fall.Then, last week, Dark Space received the dreaded strike notification from YouTube after Take-Two issued a copyright removal request. If a YouTube channel receives multiple copyright strikes, it runs the risk of being terminated.In response, Dark Space removed all download links to his mod, despite the fact he has yet to be asked to do so by Take-Two, and published a response video on his channel calling out the company for its actions and suggesting it was the result of the mod's take on GTA 6's map being "probably a little too accurate."PlayDark Space was more philosophical in a follow-up interview with IGN. I expected this would happen based on their past takedowns, the modder said. I went into this project knowing it was a possibility, and the fact that it happened does not surprise me.Dark Space said he believes Take-Two went after his mod because it was based on an online GTA 6 community mapping project that uses leaked coordinate points to perfectly map out the upcoming virtual space, and as a result might have ruined the surprise for players and the internet at large.That's probably the biggest red flag, although most of the work in my map was based on the trailer shots, Dark Space added.I think my map could have ruined the surprise of their map, which I get. If you spent years building out this amazing game world just to have some YouTuber spoil the experience of the map's shape, size, and vibe... I'd want it removed too.The upshot is Dark Spaces GTA 6 mod project is no more. And thats not just for YouTube videos of it, thats for the entire thing. Well they clearly do not want this project to exist, Dark Space said. So it's not just under threat, it's eliminated. Theres no point putting more time into something that goes directly against what theyre willing to allow.I'm just going to keep making videos that people hopefully like. I probably won't do anything else modding GTA 5 in relation to GTA 6, since it seems dangerous.There are now concerns that the GTA 6 community mapping project could be next in Take-Twos sights. The Liberty City preservation project (GTA4 in GTA5 engine) would interfere with a possible GTA4 remaster. (No idea whether theyre working on that. I think they should.)Theres no point getting angry about it. This is what companies are supposed to do. The best we can hope for is that they allow mods that dont interfere with their business. Such as DCA3 (GTA3 for Dreamcast). Mar 24, 2025Ravie LakshmananVulnerability / Web SecurityA critical security flaw has been disclosed in the Next.js React framework that could be potentially exploited to bypass authorization checks under certain conditions.The vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2025-29927, carries a CVSS score of 9.1 out of 10.0."Next.js uses an internal header x-middleware-subrequest to prevent recursive requests from triggering infinite loops," Next.js said in an advisory. "It was possible to skip running middleware, which could allow requests to skip critical checkssuch as authorization cookie validationbefore reaching routes."The shortcoming has been addressed in versions 12.3.5, 13.5.9, 14.2.25, and 15.2.3. If patching is not an option, it's recommended that users prevent external user requests that contain the x-middleware-subrequest header from reaching the Next.js application.Security researcher Rachid Allam (aka zhero and cold-try), who is credited with discovering and reporting the flaw, has since published additional technical details of the flaw, making it imperative that users move quickly to apply the fixes. "The vulnerability allows attackers to easily bypass authorization checks performed in Next.js middleware, potentially allowing attackers access to sensitive web pages reserved for admins or other high-privileged users," JFrog said.The company also said any host website that utilizes middleware to authorize users without any additional authorization checks is vulnerable to CVE-2025-29927, potentially enabling attackers to access otherwise unauthorized resources (e.g., admin pages).Found this article interesting? Plans include restoring a grade II-listed former grain siloCalled Plot 78, the latest proposals for Silvertown will include 600 homes along with commercial and retail spaceNewham council has approved Haworth Tompkins plans for 600 homes at the Silverton scheme in east Londons Royal Docks area.The Silvertown development, which is being masterminded by Lendlease, involves turning a derelict docklands site into around 6,500 homes with a focus on affordable housing.The latest plans will include affordable housing and will be delivered in collaboration with The Guinness Partnership.Called Plot 78, the scheme has been designed by Haworth Tompkins and will include two pocket parks as well as commercial and retail space.Plans for this neighbourhood include restoring a grade II-listed former grain silo, Silo D, as well as a central public park that will connect to the existing Millennium Mills former flour mill building.The decision follows Brent councils has recent approval fir Haworth Tompkins plans for 885 new homes in Wembley.The Atlip Gardens project is the Stirling Prize-winners largest residential scheme to date and will see 421 units earmarked for co-living, 88 for affordable tenures with the remainder for private sale.

Wheatley Homes Glasgow, the citys largest housing association, carried out the demolition of three of the 26-storey blocks yesterday morning (23 March) through controlled explosion. The fourth tower is being dismantled via top-down deconstruction.Neighbours were temporarily moved out of around 250 homes during the demolition and given the use of an evacuation centre. The exclusion zone ended on Sunday afternoon, Wheatley said.The controversial clearance of the 60-year-old towers paves the way for 400 new homes, which the housing association says will be 85 per cent for social rent and include a larger proportion of family-sized units compared with the 600 social homes lost through the flattening of the existing estate.AdvertisementA planning application has not yet been submitted.Alan Dunlop, of Alan Dunlop Architects, previously told the AJ that the estate, designed by city engineer Ernest Buteux and built between 1961 and 1969 for the Scottish Special Housing Association (SSHA), embodied the spirit of Le Corbusier.Scottish architects Malcom Fraser, of Fraser/Livingstone Architects, and social housing pioneer Kate Macintosh also championed retrofitting the estate while lending their support to local campaign group the Wyndford Residents Union.However, in a ruling against Wyndford Residents Union campaigners last year, the Court of Session in Scotland said it rejected claims that Glasgow City Council had erred in law by waving through the demolition without an environmental impact assessment (EIA) after the the local planning authority twice ruled that an EIA was not necessary when approving demolition in 2023.In March last year Wheatley provided the first images of what the redeveloped site could look like, with proposals set to include mid-rise blocks and landscaping.
