The title was announced through a trailer during Nintendos recent Direct, which you can check out below.Originally released on the PlayStation Portable, Patapon and its sequel puts players in the shoes of a deity for a tribe of villagers that look like eyeballs. These villagers can be commanded to take on enemy forces through the use of four drums, each of which makes a distinct sound. Combinations of these sounds, made to the rhythm of the background music, represents various commands. As the trailer for Patapon 1+2 Replay explains it, for example, if you want your villagers to attack, the drum combination is pon-pon-pata-pon. Just simply advancing your armies forward will need the combination pata-pata-pata-pon. There are quite a few of these drum combinations that are unlocked as you progress through the single-player campaign.Along with the rhythm-based gameplay, Patapon 1+2 Replay will also feature light RPG systems where players can gear up their villagers with new equipment, and have them participate in battles to become stronger. All of this is wrapped up in a stark art style that makes use of a few colours but presents incredible visuals thanks to contrasts.Patapon 1+2 Replay is coming to Nintendo Switch on July 11.

  • Trump White House invites a bloc of conservative podcasters as a jab at legacy media
    www.theverge.com
On Thursday, several conservative podcasters were invited to the White House to participate in Podcast Row, an event meant to engage alternative media by granting them hours of unprecedented access to senior Trump Administration officials. The White House intends to make this a recurring event. Bringing in new media outlets has obviously been a priority of this administration and we will explore all options that allow us to reach as many Americans as possible, Kaelan Dorr, White House Deputy Communications Director, told The Verge. According to NewsNation correspondent Libbey Dean, administration attendees included Cabinet and Cabinet-level officials Lee Zeldin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Linda McMahon, Scott Bessent, Russ Vought, as well as outgoing Counselor Alina Habba, who was recently tapped to serve as interim U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey. Online figures streaming from the room included Natalie Winters from Bannons War Room, Canadian YouTuber David Freiheit, and podcaster Breanna Morello. The new administration has made a point of engaging what they refer to as new media predominantly right-wing podcasters, streamers, and other online influencersEver since Donald Trump returned to the White House, the new administration has made a point of engaging what they refer to as new media predominantly right-wing podcasters, streamers, and other online influencers with the point of spreading their message to loyal audiences who are more than willing to listen to them for hours at a time. Back in January, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that one seat in the Brady Briefing Room would be dedicated to correspondents from non-legacy new media outlets, who could apply for a credential to attend press briefings. Over 10,000 people applied, according to a subsequent statement. While unusual, it was only one rotating seat for the entire world of right-wing podcasters and more the Podcast Row event is a significant step forward in expanding their access and proximity to the Trump White House. The event also served as a jab at the Washington press corps, who have become a piata for the Trump administration. In recent months, theyve revoked the Associated Presss press credentials after the wire service did not change the name of the Gulf of Mexico, leading to the AP suing the White House. The White House also announced that they would handpick outlets in the traveling press pool. Podcast Row is, implicitly, the next step in boxing them out. I bet you that the people in that room have more views than CNN and legacy media, Leavitt said in an X video touting the event, adding: Just saying.See More:

  • Amazons latest Kindle Scribe is the cheapest its been in months
    www.theverge.com
The latest Kindle Scribe is a far better value now that you can save on all three configurations.Unsurprisingly, Amazon is discounting a variety of e-readers during its Big Spring Sale, including its first color e-reader. But if you like to take notes while reading, theres only one Kindle that allows you to do so: the Kindle Scribe. Luckily, the 16GB version of the latest model is on sale for an all-time low of $324.99 ($75 off) at Amazon and Best Buy. You can also pick up the 32GB and 64GB versions at Amazon for $339.99 ($80 off) and $364.99 ($85 off), respectively, or the last-gen Scribe for $264.99 ($75 off) if youre a Target Circle member.Overall, the Kindle Scribe offers a far better writing experience than it did when it first made its debut. Thats thanks to a plethora of new AI-powered features Amazon baked into the second-gen model, which are also available to first-gen Scribe owners. Notably, Amazon now lets you write directly on ebook pages and scribble notes in the margins, which makes for a more intuitive note-taking experience. The Scribe can also now summarize any notes you make in the built-in notebook, when connected to the internet, and refine your handwriting. In addition to its new note-taking capabilities, the 10.2-inch Scribe continues to provide an excellent reading experience. The latest model offers thinner bezels and a textured display, but is otherwise almost identical to its predecessor, with a sharp 300ppi display thats a pleasure to read on. It also retains an adjustable warm light for nighttime reading, which is a feature that many big-screen, note-taking ebook readers lack.Read our Kindle Scribe (2024) review.
