WWW.THEDAILYBEAST.COMTeslas Plummeting Stock Just Hit a Level That Lutnick Said Would Never HappenU.S. News Teslas Plummeting Stock Just Hit a Level That Lutnick Said Would Never HappenA NEW LOWUpdatedApr. 7 202511:03AM EDT/PublishedApr. 7 20259:57AM EDTTeslas stock has plummeted to a new low only three weeks after Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick advised Americans to buy it because itll never be this cheap again. Elon Musks companys shares dropped 10 per cent in early trading on Monday, leveling out at $214.80 down from $235.86 when Lutnick made his remarks. Lutnick, speaking in an interview with Fox News on March 19, called Teslas CEO, Elon Musk, probably the best person to bet on Ive ever met.ADVERTISEMENTI think if you want to learn something on this show tonight, its buy Tesla, Lutnick told host Jesse Watters, urging viewers to put their money in the company of a Trump administration employee. Its unbelievable that this guys stock is this cheap.Elon Musk Photo Illustration by Eric Faison/The Daily Beast/Getty Images/Google The car manufacturer has seen its shares plummet over 40 percent since the beginning of the year in reaction to Musks role in the Trump administration and concerns that Tesla is losing ground to competitors in the electric vehicle market.Musks multiple public fumbles havent helped the companys casethe Tesla owner appeared to give multiple fascist salutes on Election Day and is the face of the Trump administrations DOGE task force that has pressured government agencies into firing staff. Lutnick inferred in the interview with Watters last month that the plunge in Teslas stock price was merely a dip and that when people understand the things hes building the value will rocket again. It is highly unusual for a Cabinet secretary to recommend individual stocks, even more so when the company in question is run by a White House advisor.Commentators were quick to ponder whether Lutnick may have committed ethics violations in touting Tesla stock publicly. If this cabinet secretary himself owns any of the stock hes touting on TV, hes probably committed a serious ethics offense, wrote David Frum, a journalist and former staffer in Republican George W. Bushs White House, in a social media post.Tesla stock as seen on Monday, April 7, 2025. Google If he doesnt own the stock himself, then he probably hasnt broken any laws, but is engaged in a shameful breach of trust with the audience watching. It comes after MAGA billionaire Bill Ackman spectacularly turned on Lutnick on Sunday, claiming that the commerce secretary profits when our economy implodes. The hedge fund billionaire excoriated Lutnick for being indifferent to the stock market and economy crashing and the chaos affecting everyday Americans. WWW.NINTENDOLIFE.COMThere's A New Way To Add Friends On Nintendo Switch 2Image: Nintendo LifeAdding friends on Nintendo Switch isn't our favourite thing in the world. Typing in a 12-digit unique code just so we can see what our besties are playing or join them in a quick game of Mario Kart feels a little antiquated, especially compared to PS5, Xbox, and Steam. For Switch 2, Friend Codes aren't going anywhere, but you'll at least be able to add friends in a brand new way. If you have the Nintendo Switch mobile app, anyway.Vice President of Player and Product Experience Bill Trinen spoke to Polygon last week and revealed that you'll now be able to add friends by scanning QR codes via the Nintendo Switch app. Still not quite the revolution we were after, but hey, it's an improvement? This new addition comes as a result of GameChat, the new voice and video chat integrated into the Switch 2 (if you have an NSO membership, anyway). Trinen tells Polygon that improvements to the online friend experience were important because of this feature, which aims to "replicates that face-to-face experience you get in the same room."We're not totally surprised Friend Codes are sticking around, we would've loved to be able to add friends by simply searching for them via username or something else. And not everyone uses the Nintendo Switch app, so it's perhaps not the most intuitive addition.Subscribe to Nintendo Life on YouTube805kNintendo probably hopes more people will adopt the app particularly with the addition of Zelda Notes for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom's Nintendo Switch 2 editions when the Switch 2 launches on 5th June 2025. TECHCRUNCH.COMAnalyst says Apple, Tesla have biggest exposure to Trumps tariffsWedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives slashed his price targets for Apple and Tesla over the weekend as President Trumps tariffs threaten to disrupt both businesses. The tariff economic Armageddon unleashed by Trump is a complete disaster for Apple given its massive China production exposure, Ives said in a warning note over the weekend. In our view, no U.S. tech company is more negatively impacted by these tariffs than Apple with 90% of iPhones produced and assembled in China.Wedbush cut its price target for Apple stock by $75, down to $250 per share. Apples shares are down this afternoon by 4.3% and trading at $180.Ives also cut his price target for Tesla to $315 from $550, which is still well above Teslas current share price of $233.94 as of 2:10 pm ET. Ives said the affect of tariffs isnt the only reason for the price cut. He also cited CEO Elon Musks politics, which has created a brand crisis for the automaker. Musks association with Trump and his tariffs policies are affecting sales in the U.S. and Europe and also threaten Teslas popularity in China, further driv[ing] Chinese consumers to buy domestic such as BYD, said Ives.Tesla has essentially become a political symbol globally, he wrote. It is time for Musk to step up, read the room, and be a leader in this time of uncertainty.Tesla shares were down nearly 10% compared to Fridays closing price, but have rebounded somewhat as of Monday afternoon.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 53 Ansichten

Bending the Future: Pulp Studios innovative designs and sustainability effortsPulp Studio is dedicated to environmentally responsible manufacturing and recycling. They believe that by recycling and promoting an intelligent use of resources, these practices will eventually become a standard practice throughout the world. One way Pulp Studio practices sustainability is by recycling manufacturing water and wastewater. Their processing facility uses hundreds of gallons per minute, but instead of letting it go to waste, Pulp Studio cleans and reuses the water repeatedly. They also manage waste from ceramic and organic coatings, processing wastewater to remove solids and allowing them to reuse the same water for the same purpose.Pulp Studio also promotes sustainability by recycling all glass and other recyclable materials. The process of working with glass generates a large amount of waste material. Rather than allowing this glass to end up in a local dump, Pulp Studio delivers all glass waste to facilities that repurpose it for different applications. All paper, metals and polymers capable of being recycled are also separated and picked up as recyclable waste on a regular basis. Pulp Studios commitment to environmental responsibility doesnt end with their recycling efforts. They have implemented a two-phase solar energy plan, with the goal of relying 100 percent on solar energy to operate. Pulp invested in a $3 million solar panel and battery storage system that generates 607.5 kilowatts daily, meeting roughly 50 percent of the factorys total daily consumption. Once paid off, Pulp Studio plans to add carports with overhead roofing for additional solar panels to become fully solar-powered.By continuing to push the boundaries of glasss capabilities, incorporating advanced manufacturing techniques and implementing impressive recycling and solar initiatives, Pulp Studio not only sets high standards within its own field, but also strives to be a leader in the U.S. in environmental efficiency and responsibility as well.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 43 Ansichten

WWW.ARCHITECTURAL-REVIEW.COMCompetition results: CHYBIK+KRISTOFs winning Czech forestry HQCHYBIK+KRISTOF has revealed images of its competition-winning new headquarters for Czech National ForestryThe London, Prague, Brno and Bratislava-based practice won a two-round, anonymous competition to create a new base for Czechias forestry commission in 2017.The studios winning Forestry in the Forest concept has now been revealed providing a template for environmentally-oriented design using low-carbon materials. The 12,000m office complex in Hradec Krlov will be the largest wooden structure in Czechia and is intended to bring about legislative changes to help promote more large-scale timber construction.Ondej Chybk, founding partner of CHYBIK + KRISTOF said: Wood is the material of the future - deeply rooted in our heritage, yet one of the most versatile, high-performing, and renewable resources.Designing for the Forestry, we saw wood as the natural choice, embodying the very essence of their mission. This project aims to pave the way for large-scale wooden buildings in the Czech Republic and serves as an invitation to fully embrace the potential of this material and the expertise behind it.The winning concept features five distinct, elongated sections which will each contain a different department. These elements are interconnected by a central main hall and separated by green courtyards. The office spaces are mean organised around shared internal areas creating a learning landscape with spaces for collaboration, workshops, and individual-focused work.Jan Stolek, design director at CHYBIK + KRISTOF said: The walls are constructed in the two-by-four system; the ceilings, horizontal slabs, built-in subcentres and railings are made of CLT panels; and for the large-span structures wooden glued trusses are used.Furthermore, sustainable solutions and materials are used as much as possible for example rubber flooring. The lighting of the building is provided by LED lights that are automatically switched off in corridors and sanitary areas. The roofs of the building are designed as green to retain water, which is then collected within the property or used for watering the garden atriums.Last month, an open international architecture competition was launched for a new 24.5 million (CSK 730 million) bus station and civic complex in Valask Mezi, Czechia.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 47 Ansichten

I embroidered the hiragana charactery (), and it turned out beautifully, Kubo tells Colossal. That experience sparked the idea to start embroidering hiragana characters.Starting with syllables from her own name, the first characters the artist embroidered were to ()andmo (). WWW.COMPUTERWEEKLY.COMUK SMEs losing over 3bn a year to cyber incidentsGetty ImagesNewsUK SMEs losing over 3bn a year to cyber incidentsA lack of access to technology, little to no staff training, and competing priorities are losing UK SMEs up to 3.4bn to cyber incidents every yearByAlex Scroxton,Security EditorPublished: 07 Apr 2025 18:36 Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) throughout the UK are losing 3.4bn every year as a result of inadequate and unfit-for-purpose cyber security measures, with over 30% of businesses having no form of security protections in place whatsoever, and over a quarter being targeted multiple times every year according to a new report produced by Vodafone Business.Vodafones report, Securing Success: The Role of Cyber Security in SME Growth found that the average cost of a cyber attack for a small business was around 3,400, rising to 5,000 for organisations that employ over 50 people.Vodafone acknowledged the difficulties SMEs have in addressing the torrid threat environment, with budget constraints, skills gaps, and competing business priorities all taking their toll on their ability to implement comprehensive security strategies. For example, over a third of the businesses surveyed do not give their employees security training, more than a third spend less than 100 in total every year, and just under two thirds allow employees to work from home using their own equipment, massively increasing their risk profiles.Cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated, and SMEs are increasingly in the crosshairs of cybercriminals. Investing in robust cyber security is no longer optional it is a business imperative for protecting sensitive data, maintaining customer trust, and ensuring long-term resilience, said Nick Gliddon, Vodafone Business UK CEO.SMEs cannot tackle this challenge alone. Greater collaboration between businesses, industry leaders, and government authorities is essential to providing these businesses with the resources, education, and support they need to strengthen their cyber defences. By working together, we can create a safer, more secure digital environment that empowers SMEs to grow with confidence in an increasingly connected world, he added.Vodafone today urged the government to do more to make security tools affordable and, crucially, scalable for SMEs. It called on Westminster to beef up its Cyber Local initiative, which is supposed to offer tailored support to SMEs based on size and location, but is limited to certain areas of England and Northern Ireland and only has a funding pot of 1.3m.It also recommended updates to the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) Cyber Essentials programme, which it claimed is not sufficiently reaching SMEs with many remaining unaware of its existence, and suggested that financial tools such as tax credits, or a dedicated capital allowance, could be deployed to incentivise security investment.Vodafone is also offering SMEs a one-month trial of its human risk management platform, CybSafe, including access to education and training sessions to help SME employees gain confidence in recognising potential threats.Matthew Evans, techUK chief operating officer, said the report clearly set out the significant impact of cyber incidents on the UKs SME community.TechUK has called for governments Industrial Strategy to have a greater focus on raising technology adoption across the UKs SMEs to increase productivity and to recognise cyber resilience as integral to growth, he said. The findings and recommendations of this report only further underscore the need to give SMEs the attention they deserve, and to support them in implementing robust plans to build and increase their cyber resilience.Dan Bridges, Cyware technical director, added: Vodafones policy recommendations particularly calls for improved access to intelligence sharing, tax incentives, and stronger public-private partnerships are well-aligned to motivate impactful changes. We see a major opportunity to democratise threat intelligence through collaboration and low-code automation, enabling SMEs to benefit from the same level of threat awareness and response capabilities as larger enterprises. Ultimately, cyber security is a growth enabler. Protecting digital assets builds customer trust, fuels innovation, and unlocks new markets.
