Borderlands Creator Randy Pitchford Pitched Jack Black on Playing Claptrap Back In 2012
It's been a long road for the Borderlands movie to see the light of day--it was filmed in 2021, and then underwent reshoots in 2023, and now, another year later, it's finally hitting theaters. It hasn't been the smoothest ride, but for Gearbox co-founder and CEO Randy Pitchford, whose company made the video game franchise on which the film is based, it's been worth the struggle to finally get this film out."It's amazing, you know? There were moments that, regardless of what happens from here on out, are already worth it," Pitchford told me during a joint interview with Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Tannis in the film."There was a scene that Jamie [Lee Curtis] and Cate [Blanchett] shot in the caves when Jamie's character Tannis, activated the map of Pandora. And to watch Jamie and Cate perform that as Dr. Tannis and Lilith and become the characters and bring them to life--we've only worked with these characters digitally and virtually, and Cate and Jamie and all the cast brought these characters to life. But when I watched Jamie like getting into the lore that my buddies and I built for this universe we've created, like, it could have ended there, and I would have died happy."Continue Reading at GameSpot

New Darksiders Game Teased: "Be Prepared To Ride Again"
The Darksiders series is back, and we're prepared to step back into the boots of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Revealed with a teaser at the end of THQ Nordic's 2024 showcase, the upcoming Darksiders game will be the series' fifth, following three mainline entries and one spin-off.The brief teaser features no dialogue, nor does it reveal which of the Horsemen we'll be able to control in the game. It does show the Charred Council, which longtime fans should be familiar with, as flames shoot from their eyes and mouth in appropriately scary fashion before a message appears: "Be Prepared To Ride Again."Thus far, we've gotten to play as each of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: War, Death, Fury, and Strife. The first three were each the star of one mainline game, in that order, while Strife and War were both playable in the spin-off isometric action game Darksiders Genesis.Continue Reading at GameSpot

Why Leon Kennedy Appearing in a Future Resident Evil Would Only Make Sense
Protagonists have always been some of Resident Evil's strongest assets. While ferocious monsters and zombies are obviously very important for any horror story, having a strong cast of human survivors is arguably just as important. Fans need a central group of heroes that they can root for and inevitably feel sad about when they meet their untimely end. Resident Evil has always done a decent job of getting players to connect with its protagonists, often building that connection through both story and gameplay.
