Octopus simulated in Houdini | 22 hours on a 12-year-old Dual Xeon Workstation
Here's an awesome digital octopus simulated by CG Generalist and VFX Artist Alex Zee, a.k.a. ghost3dee, in Houdini.
The simulation was set up using the finite element method (FEM), with wrinkles set up using Houdini's FEM solver – the mesh consists of three layers totaling 1.5 million tetrahedron primitives.
