Similar to last year, Devolver Digital recently held another mock awards show where it announced delays for a number of upcoming previously-announced titles that were previously set to officially launch at some point in 2024.TheresSkate Story,a surreal, trippy skateboarder that was first announced in 2022 and was originally due out last year, before being pushed to 2024 in last years aforementioned delay showcase. Another prominent one that many have had their eye on isBaby Steps,a physics-based walking simulator from the makers ofApe Out, QWOP, andGetting Over It.Finally, Free Lives roguelike beat em upStick it to the Stickmanhas also been delayed.Given that were at the very tail end of the year, these delays dont necessarily come as a surprise. Specific release dates havent yet been revealed for any of the three games. Hopefully, they will be able to meet their newly announced launch windows, but you can never really count against delays where game development is concerned.

Even in the absence of any paid expansions, Larian Studios post-launch support forBaldurs Gate 3has been spectacular, and thats set to continue as we head into 2025. Though the developer is now focused on its next major projects, its also continuing to work on major features that will be added toBaldurs Gate 3for free.Patch 8 is set to arrive at some point next year, and as previously confirmed, in addition to cross-play and a dozen new subclasses, it will also add a long-requested feature in the form of a Photo Mode. As detailed in a Steam post,Baldurs Gate 3sPhoto Mode is going to be a robust one, with a number of tools on offer. You will, of course, have free camera control, while you will also be able to place any and all characters in your party (including summons and those in a Wild Shape) in the shot and adjust their positioning as you see fit.Various lens settings will also be included, such as field of view, depth of field, focus, and exposure, while several scene settings will be offered as well. These will include being able to toggle party members, enemies, NPCs, and the player character, not to mention different poses and facial expressions. Other options will include post-processing effects such as highlights, brightness, vignettes, saturation, and contrast, as well as various frames and up to 300 stickers, of which up to 30 can be applied in a single photo.A specific release date for Patch 8 is currently unknown, but Larian says stress testing will begin in January, so hopefully it wont be too long before the studio is ready to share more concrete details. Stay tuned for more updates either way.Baldurs Gate 3is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It has reportedly sold over 15 million units.

Pamela Conrad, ASLA's inaugural Biodiversity and Climate Action Fellow, has released WORKS with NATURE: Low Carbon Adaptation Techniques for a Changing World WORKS with NATURE was the result of a collaborative effort with the United Nations National Adaptation planning team, Kotchakorn Voraakhom, International ASLA, founder of Landprocess -- with support from Climate Positive Design, ASLA, the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), and Landscape Forms. "Amid the urgent climate and biodiversity crises, WORKS with NATURE showcases 100 proven techniques that effectively adapt, mitigate, and restore both our communities and ecosystems, paving the way for a regenerative future. Central to these efforts are Nature-Based Solutions, which draw from the harmonious co-existence between humans and the natural world" Conrad says. "These techniques may serve as inspiration for countries developing their National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and others around the world." There are many examples from the ASLA Professional Awards, Landscape Architecture Foundation's Landscape Performance Series, Harvard University Graduate School of Design's Climate by Design course, African Landscape Network (ALN), and IFLA.
